I know a rookie would never be able to bring as much as Horford. That's not even a question. The point is with capspace this summer, we could get a Horford level talent that way and keep the pick. What's not out of the question is for a top 5 pick to come in and be a role player as a rookie on a playoff team. And then to hope he becomes a starter or possibly a star in a few years.

But would't trading it be saying we aren't that far off from competing for a chip....when in reality we kinda are?
What we need considering we kept Melo, is a few guys to outperform their contract, we need a gem or two.
Other teams don't give up on their "gems". We need to start stacking our assets as opposed to moving them for temporary fixes. Just my opinion.
We are that far away.

If we land a top 3 pick, you'd have to be a **** idiot to want to trade it. If it's in the 4-5 range, i'd only trade it for a legitimate all star that isn't injury prone.

Last game of the year is Tax Day, April 15 at MSG vs Detroit. That will be a huge must lose game for our tank.
