I have friends who are, inexplicably, 76ers fans

they say the press is as bad or worse in Phily towards the players

its like reading a berman article and getting worried

If the Lakers fall out of top 5, Sixers want #1, I'd bumrush them for all 3 of their picks.

I know we're a mess, but the Sixers are mind-boggling. They have Sims, Embiid, Nerlens, Javale and will probably look to draft another big. SMDH. Traded away their PG and have no obvious sense of direction. I just don't get this team. To me, they should be trying to trade down in order to restock their team. They're the opposite of Minnesota - the team who loves PGs. When are they going to find the time to develop these guys??? I don't get it.

Hinkie is a draft pick fiend. he would do some nasty things for a little taste of some draft picks

If we got #1 and Phil wasn't in love with Okafor I don't think it would be out of this world to acquire Embiid (assuming he is healthy) and the #3 or #4 pick from philly - which you can pick Towns with.

Calderon
Wesley Matthews
Melo
Towns
Embiid

and you would still have some money left over.

A couple things would obviously have to come into play here. Phil and Gaines or whoever is making the decision is not in love with Okafor and they prefer Towns. You would have 2 young stud bigs and would have enough money to maybe go after Durant in 2016.

Supposedly, Hinkie really wants Mudiay and thinks he's their solution at PG. Thus why they let go of MCW.

If this is true, if we land #2 and Sixers land 3 or 4...we should grab Mudiay and force Philly to trade some of their assets to move up. Maybe our #2 for their #3, #15 and 2 of their 5 second rounders.

Similar to how Hinkie knew Orlando wanted Elfrid Payton last year, and forced Orlando to surrender assets to get the guy they want.

If we get the first pick and they get the fourth, like one of the above posters said, I'm totally with swapping picks if we get Embiid back.
As long as he checks out as healthy.

I don't believe this report is accurate, but let's say they really would trade Embiid. Thats more than a big enough concern on its own. Trading him already. You can't say "assuming he's healthy" because they wouldn't try to trade him if he was healthy and looked good. Embiid is supposed to be a better prospect than Okafor and Towns, but I take both of them over him easily until Embiid proves he can play for a few full seasons.

The player I want from Philly is Dario Saric. Do not want Embiid

If Philly Is that desperate for Mudiay, trade down with Philly our pick swap, ask for Dario and a 2nd in this year's draft

hinkie isn't a very conventional cat. He might really want Mudiay and will do what it takes to get him. Again I am not sure what the hell he wants to do. It probably has a zero % chance of happening just was having fun with it.

is this a joke, it's the exact opposite big guys have to work twice as hard to put on weight.

I believe the reports are that he's in excess of 300 pounds right now and the Sixers front office is not one bit happy about it. My Spidey senses would be tingling like Eddy Curry at a Golden Corral if the Sixers try to move him on draft day. If the Knicks end up with the 1st and the Sixers 4th, I might consider the 1st for Embiid AND the 4th. But that's about it.

yes
might even be able to make that trade with the 2nd pick if Mudiay is their target

and has been said if Towns drops to 4 and you can get a front court of Embiid and Towns you have to think you are in pretty good shape going into free agency and beyond

But I got to say. The sixers wanting to trade this young big to get into the upper part of this draft makes me feel a little better about this draft.

Yeah, honestly, I have no idea what Hinkie's plan is. Closest guess is that he's going to keep trying to get the top pick until you end up with a Lebron James type player...or time itself ends. I think right now he has something in the neighborhood of 20 2nd round picks in the next 4 years.

I mean I guess that is fine as long as you have a supportive owner that isn't afraid of pissing off the fan base.

usually GM's don't have that long of a shelf life to continue to do this. It's never been done before because of that reason, they usually get fired after a few disappointing seasons.
