no love for Roy Hibbert ?

Post#1 » by finesse185 » Wed Feb 25, 2015 12:50 am

Isn't Roy Hibbert and David west free agents this year ? Wouldn't hibbert be an ideal choice to protect our paint. How do you feel about a hibbert and melo front court ? Hibbert is only 28

He's a mental midget. He won't last 5 minutes here.

Ever since they allowed him to play with his arms up that year claiming that fouls should not be called because he held his arms vertical. I think they were calling it verticality or something like that, I thought they were clearly fouls and it was just a excuse for them to hack Carmelo.

Completely agree with poster above

He is inconsistent might as well keep Bargs for 1/11 of the price

He only gives what 7 boards a game for a 7 footer ? That sucks

Lol...do you really want a 7'1 center that shoots 45%, 7rpg, 3.5 fouls for over 14 million .. think my friend.

For the last 3 years guards have been walking to the paint having career nights I truly believe Roy can fix that. At around 60/and 4 pretty fair

That's an overpay for a mental midget that gets 12/7 and shoots only 46%. No thank you.

Me too but they still don't call it so I guess he invented that bullcrap. But in any case I really like Hibbert, or better yet I like his impact on the game. I don't know if its still the case but at one point this season I read that Indiana still is just as good on defense but simply cannot put up enough points. They weren't even a high scoring team with PG so thats expected. But Hibbert to me is the type of player that singlehandedly give your defense a ten team jump in defensive rating. You could literally put him on the worst defense and make it a middle of the pack defense, and then since its a phil team he's gonna follow that up with another player who can defend.

My problem with him is he just doesnt grab boards enough which might eliminate small ball options with him as the only big. To me the best case scenario for me is drafting a guy like Karl Towns and having him and Hibbert together for a long time. Isn't Hibbert only like 26?

Anyway to me Hibbert is like an offensive line. He's never gonna look great by himself but the second you start pairing him with talent you start realizing great matchup problems for other teams. If we got 25mil my best case case scenario would be Hibbert/Matthews with Towns as my prized draft pick.

Calderon/Matthews/Melo/Towns/Hibbert. Thats some good ol eastern conference basketball right there. Polish that midrange Karl.

Bro he help lead the pacers to the eastern conference finals 2 years straight as a defensive force.. if that's not enough to prove he's worth that then idk what is

Idk if he's worth 15 per though either. Damn thats alot of money. But to really change your culture you gotta start with defense. We simply cannot be bad on defense and the only other guy who I know that has that impact is Marg Gasol and he don't rebound much either, yet everyone loves him and would pay 18. So relatively, Hibbert at 15 is only a slight overpay. Id love to give him a salary starting at 13. Thats a paycut for him though.

No way do I want Hibbert here.

He is an elite paint protector, but thats all he does well. Not willing to overpay for a guy like him.
