I don't think he's an ideal fit, but I would sign him if I had the chance. Knicks aren't really a team that's in position to turn away talent. I think it's likelier he signs with the Lakers though. Maybe then can team there. So long aways the Lakers part with a top 4 pick, anyway.

i have to say, while I remain unsold on Love in NY, I think a triangle of Melo, Love and Okafor might be pretty damn impressive

defense though, we'd probably have to play zone

Better him than Monroe...but we better get a serious defensive big and SG in place to make the line-up work defensively. Melo/Love combo is a huge threat offensively and a real liability on the other end.

I don't think a championship matters. If they get a championship all that means is there's on more thing Love can check off his Bucket List. Based on what's been said about love he's a laid back guy and not one of these "must win all the time" types. Of course that's not necessarily a good thing for the next team, but I can see where winning a Championship really won't matter much.

it's interesting in that he's laid back and yet he supposedly wants to be in a big market. that's important to him.

I'm actually kind of like that in real life. I'm laid back (not into all that silly Lebron posturing and posing and all that) but I love the big stage when it comes to what I do.

I think this team would be better with 2 players at 10mil rather than 1 at 20 unless that 1 is LMA, Gasol or Jordan {who I think might be worth the gamble}

If he comes here on a 3 yr deal than sure, why not. However I would not offer him any more than 3 yrs.

Lebron (who is a pointforward, but actually a powerford) plays the same position as Kevin Love. IMO that is the reason for the lack of chemistry. There is no way that could be any better if your replace Melo with Lebron. It would be like Melo and Amare all over again.
What we need is a passing center and/or a personified point guard.

It depends on who we draft -- if we get Towns -- either guy fits but I like Monroe over Love because he's younger, gives us extra versatility of being able to play some center in a pinch. He's more of a true post player who can pass -- where Love is more of a slow-back you in and shoot the jump hook post player.

Plus Love does NOT seem to fit in with teammates --- not sure why but he seems to be a loner and it appears he creates divide rather than unity.

Not that Love is my ideal player...but for those saying he only put up good numbers on bad teams, you do realize he's still putting up 17 points, 10 rebounds, 2.5 assists on 43/36/80 shooting... those aren't exactly bad numbers. I'd personally take either he or Monroe, depending on if we get Towns (or Gasol) because we need NBA caliber players! Now if we end up with Okafor, then I think Love would be better than Monroe, since he can play a bit of that stretch 4, but that defense would be bad...

Melo plays average defense ...he not bad like many of you think just because he isn't a ELITE defender doesn't mean he can't hold his own
