Oh and it's in Brooklyn

Unless you're real good you won't get any run other than being run off the court for trying to shoot by yourself while the game is on. :D

im not 'real' good lol..i don't play 'ball hog' basketball..im a tall 28 y/o who enjoys playing competitive ball the right way...i prefer playing with an older group of guys 21+...not the typical 17 year olds showboating. I went out to central park but the wait there is way too much, considering it took me an hour to just get there and an hour to get back to play an hour of ball....not worth it for me.

LOL I just realized I have some notifications... But not sure if you're still in town. me and some friends play every sunday in Brooklyn. Lmk if you want in

Honestly if you want a good court with some good pickup games and fiberglass hoops go to the park on East Houston by Whole Foods. The Cage is wack and one full court. So is Rucker.

west 4th is overrated. I dont know if you black or white, but Dyckman is where serious hoops go down.

Houston has better ballers than NYC...it's crazy out here. I would put it like this...H-Town>LA>NYC

I'd say going between 4-7 on a weekday is when it's busiest, but they're usually always busy after noon on weekends:

Hoffman Park: Hoffman Dr, Elmhurst, NY 11373
Crowley Park: Queens Midtown Exwy., 57 Ave. bet. 84 St. and 82 St. Queens
Astoria Park: 19 St. bet. Astoria Park S. and Ditmars Blvd.
Dumbo Park (in Brooklyn but you'll get games): https://www.google.com/maps/place/40%C2 ... !1s0x0:0x0

I ball in Queens quite frequently as I'm from there. What kinda games are you trying to play? Full courts, 3-3, 4-4? What's your skill level? Casual play or serious play?

1-10 my skill level is about 6-7. i prefer serious play.
i prefer 'grind it out' 4-4 half court, but don't mind 5-5 fullcourt.
im in ozone park.
thanks.

You will have to wait and fight to get games at DUMBO park. I'm from the area and my friends and I go there sometimes and have to wait over an hour every time to get a good competitive game. Sometimes there are low level 3s being played that you can hop into, but if you want more skilled ball, you're gonna have to wait. Right near there is a really crappy court at Adam Yauch park (on atlantic ave). That's where I most often play. After 5pm, when people are out of work you can usually get some good 4 on 4 or 5 on 5. It's a bad court but you're pretty much guaranteed to play without waiting more than one game.

I'm originally from LA, and visiting ozone park in queens for a while. Just wanted to know if there are any basketball courts that get good runs in the area?
thanks so much in advance for your responses.

Don't know about your area but Queens has a lot of parks where (unlike Rucker and others named) there are plenty of open courts as well as pickup games of variousl skill levels.

Flushing Meadow Park (flushing meadows queens), Baisley Park (Springfield Gardens), Jamaica Park (Jamaica Queens-farmers blvd).

Anyone hanging out on the Island can find me hooping at Coes Neck Park (baldwin), Roosevelt & Centennial Park (Roosevelt)
