If Guillermo even just helps Kristaps' development/transition then he was worth getting.

If he becomes a nice backup center then awesome.

He's the best of both worlds though. A legit early 2nd round prospect and Kris' teammate who complements his game. Great pickup.

Marc Gasol isn't a terrible comparison because of the draft position, being stashed for a year and having little athleticism. I doubt he will come in and produce 12 and 10 his first season but I think his ceiling is being a crafty, hard-nosed center with a decent jumper and the ability to grab boards.

still you get him here now, so he can get some experience, helps Kris to have a friendly face, + you get him cheap, you don't have to pay some terrible unloyal FA freelancer millions for short term deal.

I think Nene and Scola are both good comps. When I watched Sevilla games for Porz, the first name that came to my head when watching Willie was Pekovic- dude was great on the boards too.
