I will hurt Seth Rogen really, really badly if he doesn't get the awkward humor that Ennis delivers during one of the 5 greatest stories ever told.

So did anyone watch the premiere.

Pretty insane. If you were worried AMC wouldn't make it graphic enough, I suspect your concerns have been relieved.

Anybody else enjoy the premier of the series "Preacher" on AMC? I thought it was just the high-octane fix I needed now the Banshee's over. I like the mix of knee-slapping and badass moments in the show. Reminds me a little of Hap and Leonard in that regard. Also, one of the Breaking Bad writers is on board for this show. And the kid from the Geico "Peter Pan" commercial is in it.

I already heard that Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg were talking about producing a Preacher TV show, which was kinda too good to believe at the moment, and looking it up recently it seems that it has actually begun production.

One of the best comics ever, the God-running-away-from-heaven plot is gold, and I just hope it gets done properly, though I doubt the TV show could have a remote chance at matching the comic books quality.
BTW, Dominic Cooper is playing Jesse Custer, how do you feel about that?

The show NAILS Cassidy. Tulip and Jesse are hot and cold.

I've been really enjoying Preacher. Tempted to read the books, but I don't want to ruin the tv show for myself.

Watched the first 2 episodes and I'm not sure about it yet, a bit disappointed if anything.

I kinda hate it when a show differs too much from the original story. Characters and atmosphere mostly seem to be on point (not liking how they did Tulip so far though), but I was really hoping for a high fidelity adaptation. Instead, it's like they took all the comic books elements and created their own Preacher. Interesting, but a bit of a letdown IMO.

i like the show but the ratings are abysmal i doubt it will get a second season, seems more like a HBO type show reminds me of the leftovers

I'm in the same boat as you, but I feel like I would enjoy it more if I hadn't read the comics a dozen times. It has some potential IMO and I hope it can stay on long enough to see them leave Annville and delve into some of the comic story lines (I'd love to see the Jody/Jesse's childhood stuff.)
