Thanks it's nice to have a professional NBA guard who can make a variety of shots and be an actual offensive threat of some kind.

He should have an Igudola type role for us if we can upgrade at some point, but for now he's a solid starting 2 guard i like him a alot.

It's only been 4 games for him and he missed most of the preseason. However, I've seen enough to tell the machine he needs to go back to Europe and recharge his batteries. :o

Our 2-guard situation has been so bad for the last decade... He is the best 2-guard we have had since Houston.

He is a great 3rd option

That's really what most wish could happen but being realistic Porzingis is still pretty inconsistent. With a low fg% as well. He's definitely doing big things right now. I guess when it comes down to it Porzingis could be any option he wants to be.

AA is a calming presence out there. Not a vocal guy but he's a very composed vet and on a team that has had a lot of roster turnover that is especially important.

I hope KD plays tomorrow......so he can get a first-hand look at KP, the man who he will play out the rest of his career being a 2nd option to once he signs with us next year

He's what I'd hoped iman would become

Add a piece to his game season by season like Affalo did. Some in with defense, added a shot, and a post game.

I hope KD gets his first look at KP in Madison Square Garden, hopefully Westbrook is out for that game.

ciregno wrote:Just curious what everyone thinks of AA so far. You guys liking his addition since he's been back? What are pros and cons?

I'm just glad Sasha ain't starting for us anymore. Liking his post and mid range game so far.

I love his addition, for several reasons.

1) He hits open shots.
2) He moves well with the ball and creates shots from time to time.
3) He is friends with Melo, and replacing JR Smith, and Shumpert with a veteran to be his confidant is a positive for Melo, his maturity, and happiness in the locker room.

His defense has fallen off some, but that is to be expected he still tries on defense and does do a decent job while on the floor of defending especially in help situations.

I like him but honestly feel he shouldn't be a third option. He's another sixth man type, because we still lack real shot creators.

With role players you want to know what you're gonna get out of them consistently, it's a bonus when they have a well rounded game but primarily the game in, game out production is what helps the team succeed. If they can occasionally have a great game while not disappearing that often then that's what we can hope for.

Much better than having role players who only show up once every 3-5 and then offer nothing else than one dimension in only certain match ups or certain style games. That's what we had with JR and to a lesser extent Shump, it's also what we have been lamenting about DWill so far, too.

Those are fine for bench roles I guess but AA was expected to be a starter role player, teams can't have 'stars' at every position in the starting unit so those role playing starters are very important to success if they are consistent. AA has been that so far and he isn't fully back yet from injury so he has a chance to get those %s up a little bit.
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.

Solid player who makes mostly smart decisions and seems to flow with Carmelo.
