Conforto coming around now. A 3 run home run to the opposite field and a double! Duda playing again. Cabrera, Reyes, Cespedes and Granderson all playing great! But are our starters good enough for a real chance at greatness?

It'd be funny if the Mets make the Wild Card and having somebody like Gilmartin start.

Gilmarten is definitely not Matz! 5 runs in two thirds of an inning won't cut it.

Mets down 10-0 in the 4th inning. Switching to overseas tennis.

Well, the "scrubs" - as Keith described them - fought hard, showed a lot of resolve and almost pulled it out (with some help from the Phillies). But we need to win today's game. No splitsies with the Phillies.

Gilmartin will never start another game for the Mets. That's good.

Cheech some some real nice pop in his bat. That's good.

Nimmo continues to impress. That's good.

D'Arnaud still sucks. That's bad.

There should be a separate thread on it. R.I.P José. This was terrible to wake up to. Truly a life sobering moment.

Can they trim down to a 4 man rotation since season is at the very end? Matz won't make another start. And Noah is out? They won't find two replacements to finish of the season.

Their plan is to score 17 runs a game like they did today every game from now on so it won't matter.

Big game tonight. Not sure how the Marlins are going to come out. Either way, we cannot be lulled into complacency because of this tragedy. We need to win this game.

I mean I kinda knew this was coming once I had heard the news that Jose died and the Mets were headed down to Miami. This was a sure loss. Colon looked like trash and Collins left him in way too long.

Thank heavens tonight for the team that Jay Bruce still plays and roots for. They hammered St Louis.

I can't trust the Mets to handle their own business, so I'm going to have to become a MAJOR Reds and Rockies fan this week......

Jay Bruce with a RARE homerun. 2-1 good guys. We still need to pile on.
