KP: Beast of the east?

Post#1 » by The KnicksFix » Mon Jun 20, 2016 8:03 am

Watching the finals I'm realizing a few things. I'm seriously starting to think KP can develop into the best player in the east after Lebron. He might be he guy to take the title from Lebron by straight force. Here's why. We saw that a jump shooting team might not always give you a championship, and that it's a dangerous way to play, live by the 3 day by the 3, but with KP's inside outside game, we have a player on our hands that can play inside out.

Also, the way Lebron plays, most of his shots come 3-6 feet from the rim. If KP can develop his defense, he can seriously become a force that can lock down the paint. Lebron has trouble when driving the paint against bigs who can defend. (even iggy and kawhi gave him trouble in the post.)After watching the finals and our past season, I'm really excited to watch this guy turn into the beast of the east. He WILL be the best player in the east in 3 years. Maybe even 2 ( if he takes monstrous steps in his overall game)

Temper your expectations of KP before you get disappointed. Stay optimistic but just wait & see.

K-PorZexy is going to, at a minimum, be in the MVP conversation.

The best is damn near impossible to say, but I'm more and more confident that KP will develop into one of the best players in the East. His work ethic is exciting.

Thing about KP is that there aren't any big people in the East that warrant legitimate concern.

He should be the best big in the East in fairly short order.

As long as you folks don't end up crucifying him if he doesn't turn out to be Superman and Batman rolled up into one (minus the Zach Snyder)...hey go nuts.

The OP is on to something. Given Lebron's age he is not going to be the best player in the east in 2 years if recent history is any indication. Shaq, Kobe, Wade and Duncan were not the best players in the league at age 33, they were not even the best players in their own conference. Lebron will be 33 in 2 years so I really believe either Giannis Antetekounpo or Porzingis will surpass him.

War torn, beaten down and tattered Knicks fans have a unicorn and they say calm down. It is to be expected.

Once bitten, twice shy as the saying goes.

I'd love for KP to be the beast of the East, but we've watched so many players fail to even be half of what we expected them to be in the past.

So I won't call anyone who hopes for the best as fools or anything, but for the sake of my psyche right now, my expectations are low for now. But I will be happy if they are exceeded.

Does this make me bandwagon commander?!

In all seriousness, like others in this thread have said, KP could be the best big in the east in short time. If he protects the rack from the paint, then he can and will be the best player in the east because Lebron's gameplan is predicated on the drive. KP can be that guy, and we know it. Who else is there the past six years to challenge Lebron? An aging Celtics, and a very young bulls. They've never had a team in their prime, compared to okc, gsw and the clips out west.
