Found this picture funny. Glad we have Porzingis & not D Russell.

What's not to like about this? 1 year deal, coming off the bench, & he has all the motivating factors aligned to drive him to excel for us.

I like it a lot. Jennings and Rose have a lot to prove and with Jennings being a backup @ age 26 ... I mean ... how could you not like that upgrade from an abysmal showing last season? I'm ready.

What really does help also is how the majority of Pistons fans have actually said that Jennings wasn't any of those things that he supposed is (cancer, malcontent, lazy, selfish, etc.) and most appreciated him for what he did while he was there and would have liked to keep him. And Pistons fans are some of the most critical and blatantly candid fans in the business.

If you told me that we signed Jennings to replace Calderon with how bad jose was last year I could of lived with it but we signed this dude on to back up Derrick rose for five mill and some posters have issue?? Very solid move..

Their responses were an interesting part of the dynamic of that thread. "No, we actually watched him."

Yeah. Brings me back to my Alfonso Soriano vs. D'Angelo Jiminez "I don't need to watch him play, I have stats" example. But what can you do?

The more I think about this acquisition the more I like it. Jennings alone, when healthy, is already an upgrade to Calderon, whose best days are over. Because of his young age I am optimistic that Jennings can regain his former form. During the last season he already delivered first indications that his resurrection could be possible. His motivation for his recovery should be very high because New York is an open account for him. The hope is back.

I have no idea what's going on in this thread. I wanted to discuss Jennings, now I see people getting banned. I think I'll just save my input for later. Lol

Good pickup. I just hope his defense is at least decent.

I think you folks who are discussing how well Jennings can contribute off the bench for us next year are woefully missing the point. My friends there is NO way Rose starts more than 35 games this season as a Knick. Better count on Jennings as the starter
Tanking again, I suppose. Is there any other way?

So Jennings officially signed?
I honestly think Rose's body is more ready and he will start at least 40-50 games this year.

For the record, im in favor of this move.
Jennings as a starter wouldve been a disaster, but as a backup its a nice fit. Hes inefficiency from the field wont hurt as much when hes going up against the other teams 2nd unit. We just need him to give us an extra boost coming off the bench. Crawford has made a living being a chucker off the bench and winning awards for it (I actually do like Crawford though).
For only 5 million, its a steal. Low risk, high reward. Cant hate on those type of moves.

I don't have a problem with Jennings chucking threes if he shoots them at a respectable percentage.
Throughout a season, Jennings has shot anywhere from 32.9% to 37.5% for threes.
As long as he isn't shooting any lower than that for us, he's good with me. I'll even accept his overall FG% being below 40% if it's due to him taking more threes than twos.
Next season, we'll probably be among the top 5 teams in 3pt attempts.
