I'm happy to see Kuzminskas find a spot in the rotation and making the most of his opportunity. He's very confident shooting the three and doesn't try to do too much to disrupt the flow out there. I don't know what his ceiling is but I like what he brings off the bench. When Lance returns, I hope Kuzminskas is ahead of him in the rotation.

Now that Kuzminskas has cracked our rotation i fully expect him to make the NBA's All-Rookie team (most likely the 2nd team, as Ginobili did with the Spurs as a rookie).

Let's slow down now lol. I like Kuzminskas, but Manu is a pretty high standard to compare him to. Let's see how he progresses before we make statements like that.

To be fair i was simply comparing the overall style of play between Kuzminskas to Ginobili, similarities in terms of having years of overseas experience (before arriving to the NBA) along with the rookie season's of Kuzminskas' compared to that of Ginobili's (production wise). Nothing more/nothing less.

Kuz is currently averaging 11.4 minutes per game (although has averaged 16.1 minutes per gm over the past 5 games) compared to Manu who averaged 20.7 minutes per game during his rookie season so below, I'll compare their per 36 statistics (rookie season's).

PER 36:

Manu: 13.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.4 steals & 2.5 turnovers (per 36).

Kuz: 14.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.5 steals & 1.1 turnovers (per 36).

Below I'll compare their overall (rookie) shooting percentages:

Manu:
FG% of .438%.
2PT% of .494%
3PT% of .345%.
FT% of .737%.
eFG% of .503%.

Kuz:
FG% of .417%.
2PT% of .419%.
3PT% of .414%.
FT% of .800%.
eFG% of .517%.

Below I'll compare their advanced (rookie) statistics:

Manu:
Player Efficiency Rating of 14.7.
TS% of .556.
TRB% of 6.5.
AST% of 15.8.
STL% of 3.6.
Usage% of 18.5.
Turnover% of 17.5.
Win Share/48 of .141.

Kuz:
Player Efficiency Rating of 15.1.
TS% of .543.
TRB% of 7.9.
AST% of 11.2.
STL% of 2.0.
Usage% of 17.6.
Turnover% of 7.2.
Win Share/48 of .113.

Now, no, I'm not predicting that Kuzminskas will go on to have a HOF career as a 6th Man off the bench (as has Ginobili) but all rookies must start from somewhere and when i see Kuzminskas take the court i see so much of a younger Ginobili and judging by their rookie statistics; I'd say that Kuzminskas is off to an excellent start to his NBA career and on par with that of Manu's inaugural season.

I'd love to see Kuzminskas log an extra 5-7 minutes per game but when on the court, he's (thus far) been one of the most impressive/most efficient rookies within the league.

Only time will tell if he'll keep up with this production as the season continues (still early) but if Kuzminskas were to continue improving upon this early season start? Well then the sky becomes the limit for Kuz as a role playing role player off the bench.

With that said if Kuzminskas can keep up with this type of efficient play, he'll certainly be on the verge of making an NBA All-Rookie team (as did Ginobili).

Thus far he's met the eye test in terms of being a piece (of many pieces needed) in order to build around Porzingis moving forward into the future.

It'll be interesting to see if Kuz can adjust a bit on his drives to the hoop. He gets stopped there somewhat often. I said earlier I "think" it's a matter of adjusting to what works in the NBA vs Euroleague. That said, he's been able to get to the rim in the past vs US players in international competition, but the D is a little more lax in those settings than the NBA day in day out.

I think he can adjust, but want to see it. Right now he's like Derrick Williams, with a better shot but not as good finishing. I"ll take that.

Only reason Randle didn't make the team (from what I've heard and read) was because of the injury. I though him and Baker were supposed to be locks before he got injured. I even seem to remember Jeff saying he would cut someone if necessary.

I don't remember ANYONE stating that. I remember the "cut Sasha or cut Lance, he was only good for a 2month stretch" threads and posts but, most seemed to see the potential in the very limited minutes he got.

Kuz is averaging 11 MPG right now. I am curious to see if he eventually becomes a guy at around 20 MPG could he impact the 2nd unit similar to that of Mirotic on The Bulls. While Mirotic is inconsistent, he has that same "I can make three 3's in a row in 2 minutes" and drive you nuts kind of vibe.

Not me. I wanted them both. I watched a lot of film of Kuz when I heard we were going to sign him. Of course, you highlight films can be deceiving, but I liked what I saw from him on the court, which is pretty much what we're seeing now from him.

What I like most about him is his cool on the court. Cool Kuz.
