Give Jeff a shot and see if he can develop the youth.

Nothing else matters.

He can coach offense, all Knicks need is good defensive coach.

I'd like to see how he does free of interference.

As far as I'm concerned this is his first season with us. Looking forward to it.

As someone suggested some time ago, maybe Horny and SSOL (sever seconds or less) goes together...

His defensive coaching is horrible, he needs to hire a 'Mike brown' like Kerr did. But at this time, you keep and see how the team develops

Outside of Jeff G, Jeff H, and Mark Jackson.. who is your choice?? I have a personal shot in the dark..

Messina might be nice but i don't know if he can have enough patience for a young team.

Have a feeling Horny could overachieve with a young roster like he did with the Suns. Not sure though if this would be the best thing for us at this moment.

I'd love it if we overachieved just to see KP win some games and build some team character.

This.This. This. This is one of the 2 things I worry about. this team needs defense first. Can Horny do that?
2nd thing? Can KP play Center and will Horny play him there?

Maybe Frank will enjoy Feeding KP and Willy and we'll grow organically and surprise some people. Of course, that means we really need to lose two ball hogs. Hmm...

This, he seriously needs to get rid of Rambis. Although Summer League really isn't a big sample size, I see the same horrendous defense that we saw in the regular season. Lots of easy offense from the opposing team that we for whatever reason just can't seem to shut down. I'm all for continuity and keeping Jeff, but we really need some defensive-minded assistant coaches that can drill in defensive sets into these guys.

Don't be shocked if Hornacek is NOT the coach next season. A new President may want to bring his own guy in, and my guess is that Dolan would relent if this was a condition of that guy taking the job. I don't think that will occur, but anytime there is front office turnover this is a real possibility.

Jeff can stay for now. Let the new GM see if he likes him. Rambis needs to go somewhere far away from the Knicks and get a coach to teach defense. Also they should try to pull in the best training staff they can find to develop the young guys.

Also, let's see if we like the new GM first, too. At least KP and other players talk with Jeff, and that's more than we can say about Phil.

BTW, it seems that except for the cursed triangle, Phil phinally came around to the idea that we all have now about how to rebuild. But somehow, he must have gotten infected with the "Insult via Twitter" (IvT) bug. There's another President who also caught that IvT bug, too.
