Detroit Pistons rookie forward Ausar Thompson will miss the remainder of the season while being treated for a blood clot, the team announced Wednesday.

The bad news didn't end there for the Pistons, who announced center Isaiah Stewart will sit out the rest of the season due to a right hamstring strain. Stewart suffered the injury during the third quarter of Detroit's 119-94 loss to the host Boston Celtics on Monday.

According to the Pistons, Thompson has been cleared to resume conditioning and will begin non-contact basketball activities at the conclusion of the regular season. He is expected to be ready to return before next season.

Just gotta hope he's alright long term.

Him and his brother has shown great potential on defense, just gotta get the offense going more.

I havent watched Ausar much but I've watched Amen because of Green and Amen IMO scores enough of late...I love what hes doing even with his weaknessess...Off the top of my head he rebs, assits, blocks, steals(at a high level) and while his 3pt shot is terrible he scores enough.
I think Amen and Green will be a perfect pairing...

Picked up another good win against the Thunder, everyone in the starting five with double digits. Next game is against the Mavs who typically own us, but it'll be a good test.

G League Ignite To Cease Operations After Current Season
MAR 21, 2024 5:16 PM

The NBA has announced that the NBA G League Ignite will cease operations after the current season. The league said that "the decision to end the program comes amid the changing basketball landscape, including the NCAA’s Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) policy and the advent of collectives and the transfer portal."

Nine Ignite veterans are currently in the NBA, including key contributors Dyson Daniels (New Orleans Pelicans), Jalen Green (Houston Rockets), Scoot Henderson (Portland Trail Blazers) and 2022 NBA champion Jonathan Kuminga (Golden State Warriors).

“Four years ago, we started Ignite to fill a void in the basketball landscape, and I’m proud of the contributions we were able to make to that ecosystem,” said Sharif Abdur-Rahim. “With the changing environment across youth and collegiate basketball, now is the right time to take this step. I want to extend my sincere gratitude to general manager Anthony McClish, head coach Jason Hart and their staff and to each player who wore an Ignite jersey. As ever, the G League’s commitment to developing top NBA talent and helping players achieve their NBA dreams is unwavering.”

There's an argument that the Thompson Twins are faring better than the Ignite alums. It's not a good look for that league.

The twins were the icing on the cake Cap...
I've been so busy for the last three years that I just assumed the nba had the best development...

When you have Talent like Green, Kuminga and Scoot and you don't teach them the fundamentals and expectations
that a rookie experiences on the floor- thats not a good look for the NBA...And apparently they figured it out

I don't blame you. I would have assumed that too and it's pretty wild that they don't.
