I want Russell Westbrook
I was watching highlights from youtube, wow. He jumps out the gym, hes a top defender, his passes are pinpoint AND he rebounds. What else more do we need? Hes an explosive player.

I don't like his ball handling....but i'd definitely be okay picking him if he is to play the point guard position.
Right now....the only players I'd be pissed off if we pick would be Lopez, Gallinari(never seen him player) and McGee. And maybe Joe Alexander because we're stocked at that position and he's not much better than wat we already have.

look im not gonna be upset if we take him...but he reminds me A LOT of Fred Jones, and while thats not horrible, thats not worth the #6 pick... he may become a perrenial dunk contestant, but don't let that alone impress you. i know dunks are exciting and they make ppl overrate somebody, but be objective here.

I'll pass. He's not a PG IMHO and at 6'2"-6'3" he can be athletic as he wants and defend like Gary Payton and he'd still be too early a pick at 6.

His a/t ratio is 1.74 and had 18 games where he had 5 or more assists. He ran the point when Collison went out and did pretty well. 5 of 6 of the games Collison was out....Westbrook had 5 or more assists and this was the "beginning" of the season. So early on....he played the point pretty well.

Yeah but to be fair it's one thing to fill in for someone and another to be THE guy at the point IMHO. And of the games that I've watched him play the point he really didn't look like a natural (like Augustin or Rose) which lends to the question about him being able to play the point full time in the NBA and, even more importantly, being worth taking at 6.

Well the consensus around here says that Eric Gordon is the only player worthy of being picked sixth, but even wit that alot people here don't really like Gordon's game. So being worthy and not worthy isn't really all that important.
And to counter your point about not being the full time point....he's not gonna start in front of one of the top guards in the nation especially w/ that guard being a junior/more experienced.
He has just a good field percentage as the guards u mentioned and good coaching behind him.

I don't think we want a scorer at PG. Yes.., this is D' Antoni's system and Nash was needed to score a lot of points and he is great at it but.., what have they accomplished??
We need to build on defense and have an advantage over the Chris Paul and Derron Williams of the NBA. Scoring is a large part of their games but.., if we can lock them down., we'd force them to make some mistakes that we can capitalize off.
Mike D's system is fine for getting into the playoff but once we are there then what?
Westbrook is also a "leader" something that many has criticized Marbury for not being. We have scorers at the 2, 4 and 5 already.., we don't need anymore.
The passion that comes with defense can't be taught but.., it can be contagious. With Chandler and Westbrook.., our team will be more inspired to play "D".

I've been on the THjr bandwagon since summer league, and I would trade him for Rondo. IMO Rondo is the third best PG in the NBA after Curry and CP3. I doubt anything happens though.

Can the Knicks take baby steps? Can they atleast make it to the playoffs before people start questioning Mike D? Right now, just making the playoffs is a success for this team
