Strengths: A versatile and dynamic scorer who can make things happen with the ball in his hands or without it, Gallinari ranks as one of Europe's top scorers at a young age. His stroke is pure, blessed with picture perfect mechanics and beautiful arch and rotation, and he's become increasingly confident from behind the three-point line. Off the dribble, he uses an array of head and body fakes as well as outstanding ball-handling skills to drive past opposing defenders. The small forward both can finish against contact and find the open man on the drive while showing an excellent feel for the game. He draws fouls at a very high rate and shows the passing ability to get everyone around him involved in an unselfish manner. Against smaller players, he appears to be developing the ability to take advantage of his size in the low post. At age 19, Gallinari was the most important player on a team that competed in the Euroleague this season and made the semifinals of the Italian league playoffs, often never leaving the floor for a second. He has great intangibles and clearly is a winner.
Weaknesses: Gallinari won't stand out athletically at the NBA level. He sometimes loses focus on the defensive end, and below-average lateral quickness may limit his ability on this end of the floor at the NBA level. He's just an average rebounder despite his size.
Outlook: Considering his all-around skill set on the offensive end of the floor and ability to play multiple positions, Gallinari should crack the top 10 in the draft this season. He projects as the top international player in this draft.
