He ditched the N_gger title because Def Jam wouldn't release it under that name.

Someone needs to save hip hop.

Pro Wrestling will be relevant again before we see anything like hip hop in the 90s.

in the meantime, im okay with all the underground **** from Def Jux, Stones Throw Records, Chocoalet Industries, Ryhmesayers and Warp Records

Nas knew he was not going to have that title from the jump. He did it for shock value. It worked because he kept his name in circulation for months since the beginning of 2007.

starks I'm with you.

The late 80's and 90's were awesome.

The DeLa's & Tribe Called Quest and the Kane era (before he got all barry white on us) was great.

Who here remembers hearing the first Juice Crew Allstars when Mr. Magic had the Rap Attack on WBLS

Or Chuck Chillout and Red Alert. Those were the years.

yea man.

I hate it when these new rappers feel disrespected and say things like "Get over the 90s and listen to my new club banga". They don't respect history.

back when Nas was first coming out, it was an amazing period. Every week there was one must buy album after the next.

Thank god for itunes and ipods though. I have no idea about the trash on the radio. I've been exploring tons of albums i was too young to appreciate back then.

Right now im listening to Blowout Comb by Digiable Planets

you guys ever listen to Bahamdia? That was Guru's protege. Peep the track "spontaneity"

Heltah Skeltah sampled that track, so it might ring a bell.

Hmm. I thought he ditched it because major retailers refused to carry it? I know there were rumors that Def Jam didn't support it, but I vaguely remember Nas and LA Reid coming out and saying that they fully support the title but for "other reasons" it will be untitled. The other reasons are obviously backlash from the big boxers.

This **** is BANGIN

But I still like the "N_GGER TAPE" better honestly, that joint on there by Tyson is the truth

But I'm glad he put the "Obama" track on his album, without all the tags and stuff on it. Good stuff.
