OT: Nets, Marcus Williams

Post#1 » by StutterStep » Sat Jul 19, 2008 3:11 pm

Grain of Salt, but nonetheless interesting:

http://www.northjersey.com/sports/nets/ ... night.html

League sources said the Nets and Magic are close to agreeing on a sign-and-trade for Dooling, a 28-year-old backup whose impending arrival almost certainly signals the end of Marcus Williams’ career in New Jersey.

The Nets have been shopping Williams, a 2006 first-round pick, since last summer.

They also would part with Sean Williams and Josh Boone in the right deal and have a decision to make on restricted free agent Nenad Krstic, once he gets an offer he likes.

His value has been reduced now that laptops are dirt cheap :)
All in all he's just another prick with no wall

He looks to be a lackadaisical chucker.

Personally I'd rather have Duhon over him.

I'd prefer Walsh go after guys like Marcus and Sean Williams who actually have talent versus bums like Duhon and Roberson.

We arent going to be competitve anytime soon.

Marcus and Sean Williams for Lee, Collins, and Chandler. I like Chandler but I like Sean Williams better.

Why wouldn't we? Of course we'll resign Lee.

Dude Chandler is good but he isnt 6' 10" and cant block shots like Sean Williams.

Sean Williams for Lee and Collins the Nets probably hang up the phone either way.

nets aren't trading sean williams and they should'nt ... they're rebuilding, why would they trade him??

and optimus ... of course the knicks won't be good. how many times have i said the knicks will be a 20 win team this upcoming season?? i want them to stink from game #1!

and i don't really care about roberson, he's a scrub .. to me he's only here to put another nail in marbury's coffin and i've said many times lee will get traded since walsh said he has no plans to trade, sign, or re-sign guys to contracts past 2010 and with duhon getting a 2 year deal and roberson getting a 1 year deal with a team option .. looks like he's keeping his word.

if it were me i wouldn't pick up both balkman's and collins' options because they'll both be making close to 3 mill each and that's a lot for 2 scrubs.

and to the thread title, isiah should've drafted williams who's better than balkman and will have a better playing career than balkman.

balkman - dreadlocks = burger king employee.
LOL Y U MAD THO?

I think I just got dumber reading this post (and with all the Krok' and lil'nate posts, etc. that's quite a hard feat for you to do to me)....

Seriously though what happened to some of the smarter posters here? People like Doc', and optimus' used to post good, thought provoking things...now it's just proverbial bull...

Marcus Williams is a bad fit. Sean Williams probably too. We need wing/guards that can shoot well and bigs that can score if we ever going anywhere.

Sean Williams can score around the rim. He doesn't take three which I like.
