OT: Billy Wagner is done

Post#1 » by TdoubleE » Mon Sep 8, 2008 8:32 pm

Probably done as a Met. Done for the year and possibly all of 09. :(

He will be missed, however...

Call me crazy, but I feel good with Ayala as the closer for some reason.

You know, if it isn't one thing with the Mets, its another.....You feel good about Ayala, pass me some of those crazy pills please. Anytime anyone in that bullpen comes in, I turn off the game cause I know if they screw up another lead I'll probably break my TV.

This really sucks and limits our chances going very far in the playoff if we even get there. Not good at all.

I feel confident with Ayala out there because he has just enough to get the job done. A strong regular righty was all we needed, and Ayala is just that. He only has 1 blown save, that bodes well for us. I think the motto for mets fans is "Anything but Hielman"

You've been missing some good games then because the pen hasn't surrendered an earned run in their past 27 innings pitched. Stop believing what you watch on SportsCenter and read in the sports pages, and start believing in the team!

Ayala has what it takes. He's tough physically, tough mentally, and is experienced. He's been almost lights out in years past. If he can over come the bad stretch he had just before coming to the Mets, he'll be successful. JMan has arms in the pen warming up when Ayala's going for the save though so, even if he stumbles someone else can always come in and cover.

brian fuentes? are u serious? 0% chance he is our future closer..

wagner chokes in big spots anyway, hed help get to the playoffs but when has he ever done anything beyond that? 9era for his career in the post season including 5er in 06 vs the cards in 2.2 ip..

hopefully stokes keeps it up and our lefties and righties can get out their respective counterparts because we have no one who can get out both on a consistent basis

I agree with you they have been decent lately, but I don't know man they just scare me......A LOT.

Oh and I don't watch Sportscenter.

Did anyone hear that yelp? That was K-rod, unable to contain his own excitement.
