Wouldn't Frye fit the new system?

Post#1 » by KnickFan33 » Tue Sep 16, 2008 2:50 am

Yeah he's soft. But he'd be able to spread the defense with his jumper. I also figure he'd be able to get up and down the court better than Randolph or Curry.

Portland doesn't exactly view him as one of their core players, so he could probably be had for cheap.

Thoughts?

Sorry if its been discussed already.

Frye is actually pretty slow. Plus he sucks.

I'd rather develop Danillo.

I'd like to think that Lee could be able to do what Frye does and more, once he develops his jumper.

I go crazy whenever somebody starts a thread saying we should've kept Frye, we should trade for him, etc.

Was he that good to begin with that he warrants this kind of attention?

Charmin Frye is softtttt.

Plus he's injured. If we could sign him for 3 mil a year for 3 yrs I'd do it.

Frye? Nah. You know who'd be perfect? Mike Sweetney. Plug him in with Zach and Eddy and watch out!

Sweetney?!? Nah. Maciej Lampe, if he was still in the league, would've been D'Antoni's prime target. And you thought Frye could shoot that J? You haven't met him. It was a mistake to trade him away for Stephon Marbury.

I don't see it at all.

There a couple of things that Channing is just horrible at and he really doesn't get enough credit for being so bad at each.

He is...

- a horrid defender
- a horrid passer
- a horrid ball handler

In Mike D's system the 1-4 have to be able to move and put the ball on the floor. You don't get open 3's if the D doesn't respect your ability to put the ball on the floor. Channing can't put it on the floor and he can't pass it.

yes
i think he would
d'antoni's system has made equally as mediocre players shine
his jumper, length and get this: coachability would make him a better fit
than people are willing to admit.

I think Frye would fit better into the system than Lee.
