Interview on Knicks site is about 5 days old.
I don't know Italian so correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks from the translation like he is just saying he HOPES it is better and HOPES to be ok for the season.

the interview on Knicks site was the source of the Italian press article...

about translation Gallo says

"La schiena sta meglio " = "The back is better"
and he adds
"Penso che sarò a posto per l'inizio della stagione" = "I think I'll be fine by the start of the season"

Gallinari: No one individual, but the whole team has given me advice. I have a nice feeling with everybody, getting to know everybody, and I am having fun with them. It's a nice situation.

That's good news. But I hope it's not just because of the cortisone shot (which needed a few days to work). If the pain is just being 'masked', this might be a lingering issue all season...

I don't want to jump to any conclusions, but looking at the x-ray the Rooster is looking like a Turkey.

Damn, I was conserned about his back, and now it turns out that his neck is broken.
