Can NY get Amare now??

Post#1 » by Clyde2 » Thu Dec 4, 2008 2:21 am

League sources explained that Amare has been a good soldier through a lot of the changes taking place in Phoenix, but that he is growing increasingly more vocal inside the team, and on the floor about what he thinks the team should be doing. As things continue this season, it's not a stretch to think Amar'e is lobbying himself out of Phoenix. One source said The Suns would not be "held hostage" by Amare and that if he wants out, they'd make that happen. The Suns are 11-7, and have lost 5 of their last ten games, which puts them tied for 4th place in the west with Houston and Utah, also sitting at 11-7. Suns' sources close to this situation pointed to worst home stand in years (4-5 at home) as the cause, saying losing never breeds good press clippings. The source also said that the team was not concerned about Amar'e at all. We will have to see how it shakes out. HoopsWorld

Amare is becoming more unhappy in Phoenix. Maybe he could be reunited with MD. Could NY put a package together that Phoenix would take. How about Curry, Rose, Lee for Amare and Barnes.
Curry would be a low post presence. Rose is an expiring. Lee is an asset. I only added Lee and Barnes to sweeten the deal. If NY could just send Curry and Rose for Amare I would be ecstatic.

Hahaha... Amare is one of the best bigs out there. No way you get him for that package...even if you have controversial photos to blackmail Kerr.

Marbury/Lee/Chandler for Amare/Hill

Nash/Marbury
Bell/Barbosa
Chandler/Barnes
Diaw/Lee
Shaq/Lopez
Those last 70 seconds, Randle in a nut shell.

Awful 2 for 1 3PT attempt when we are up 2
Doesn’t close out on Sabonis --> open 3
Takes another side step off balance 3

We got sucked into the Randle vortex where all good feelings go to die.

So, the Suns decide to rebuild a year and half early? Call them and see if they'll agree to it.

I'd do it from a Knicks standpoint!

^^^ My bad. Doesn't work in the checker. Should be Marbury/Lee/Chandler for Amare/Diaw. I just think it's good value for a disgruntled star. 2 youngster, a backup PG who can up up 16/8 and relief from Amare's AND Diaw's contracts size. Lee would work great with Shaq. Chandler can eventually supplant Hill at the 3.

Lineup would be

Nash/Marbury
Bell/Barbosa
Hill/Barnes
Lee/Chandler
Shaq/Lopez

Another trade is Curry/Malik/Chandler/09 1st for Amare/Hill

Curry would be an ideal PF next to Shaq in Porter's halfcourt set. Shaq could mentor Eddy and Eddy would be nice next to Lopez for the long haul. Malik gets waived.

Nash/Dragic
Bell/Barbosa
Barnes/Chandler
Curry/Amundson
Shaq/Lopez

I don't think any team wants to take Marbury now. If we are going for Diaw also, maybe MD would trade Gallo to get two former players who he liked. Trade would be Curry, Rose, and Gallo for Amare and Diaw.

Amare + Diaw for Marbury's expiring + Chandler + Robinson sounds good.

I think Phoenix would want some talent back not just an expiring or cash.

Yes. We all know Phoenix is itching to get a fat and injured Curry, a valuable commodity like Malik Rose, a true superstar like Stephon Marbury, and a future white Dwight Howard in David Lee for their franchise player.

Honestly, if Phoenix were to do any combination of those trades I would really have to think that Isiah was secretly hired to work there.

You are right Phoenix should get back a PF. I think the 1st rounder is too generous. A 2nd round should be enough and maybe we could substitute Gallo for Chandler.
Eddy/Malik/Gallo/2nd round for Amare and Diaw. This gives Phoenix some cap room. Even though Diaw hurts our cap strategy, we would get one of the possible NY targets.

NY could substitute Qrich for Curry. Malik has value as an expiring. Lee is a solid talent.

LMAO.

And I give the same response to Clyde substituting in Q for Curry: LMAO.
