Curry Gone! ... Would CHI take him back?

Post#1 » by ALL HAIL » Sun Dec 14, 2008 9:43 am

LALs trade Radman, Vujacic, Walton, and Sun to NY for Curry, M. Rose, and Roberson.

LALs trade Curry, Odom, Ariza, Farmar to CHI for Deng, Hinrich, Nocioni, and Sefolosha.

CHI pluses: Clear all bad contracts, make playoffs, gain size and low post presence, secure solid place in 2010 Wade sweepstakes with only 20 mill (Curry, D. Rose, and Noah) on payroll, chance to up Curry's value (for possible trade) by bringing him back home and utilizing his skillset.

CHI minuses: Curry is hated in CHI, Curry's contract expires the year after 2010 (11.5 mill), solid playoff team this year but next year will lose Gooden, Odom, Ariza, and Gordon (unless they sign bloated one year deals).

NY pluses: Lethal outside shooting, solid chance to bloat Vujacic and Radman's numbers to trade them next year before summer of 2010, rid themselves of Curry's very difficult contract to trade and replace it with Walton's equally difficult contract to trade, but for 6 mill cheaper (Curry 11.2 in 2010, Walton 5.2 in 2010).

NY minuses: Vujacic and Radman's contracts expire the year after 2010, Walton will be practically immovable (unless he absolutely blows up in NY ... highly unlikely).

LAL pluses: Improve defense at PG (Hinrich and Sefolosha), improve defense at SF (Deng and Nocioni).

LAL minuses: Deng lacks range on jumper, completely changes the complexion of a team trying to win a championship, difficulty of learning the triangle on the fly, losing solid third bigman in Odom and replacing him with combo of Powell, M. Rose, Mihm, and Mbenga, Deng's long, expensive contract.

Nobody wants Curry. hes garbage. Chicago knows that more than anybody. Funny thing is though that they could prob use his post scoring and they have the defenders and hustlers to mask his weaknesses somewhat.

Still. Curry blows and everyone knows it. Only way we get rid of Curry is to package Lee or Nate with him.

Memphis has zero shot of retaining Lee were they to acquire him. He cannot be traded there.

Why would LA trade 7 of their players and blow the team up to get Curry and Deng when they look like arguably the best team in the league right now?
