Who will be the new 'escape'goat?
Before when the Knicks lost it was because of Zachass and Crawful along with colorful adjectives describing why they suck and are bringing the Knicks down.
Since they have been traded the blame game isn't what it used to be.

Re: Who will be the new 'escape'goat?
probably walsh, people are gonna start hating on him and Dantoni, both for no reason, for the things they did and didnt do
robenson (nobody in the whole nba has signed ewing JR)
Gallinari - (everybody wanted bayless, and he has done crap this year too)
Trading Zach for crap - (his value was high, and as we went on, teams will back off trades because of their eyes on 2010), if you were a gm of a team, what would u give up for zach, knowing he dont play much D, and isnt really a winner, but a hard worker. No way i would give up a 1st round pick if i was a lottery team, and the better teams in the nba didnt want him.
Marbury situation (does anyone really care about this guy anymore)

Escape goat? Dude it's scape goat...smh, and it's the fact we have no defense and a short rotation.
If you have no critics you'll likely have no success.

Re: Who will be the new 'escape'goat?
Scape goating by definition means you are taking someone and putting all the blame on them even though its not all their fault.
This has been a major problem with the fans, the media and the management of the knicks the last several years.
First it was Cheney, Eisley, Anderson. Then KVH, Wilkins, Nazr. Then it moved to the new guys. Marbury, Crawford, Brown. Then it found a lasting home with either Isiah or Marbury but for those who needed a new victim every other day they found ways to move the blame to Jamal, Lee, Nate, Zach, Dolan, etc, ad nauseam
The problem with all this is not that each of those guys was to blame in some way but that none of those guys were to blame completely.
Its not black and white
Our problems have been complex and our solutions will be complex. It will require thoughtfulness and intelligence to turn this team around and it will require thoughtfulness and intelligence from the fans not to buy into the old habits and not to be baited by the media.
There is no scape goat needed on this team. Our GM is making moves that reduce our talent but increase our ability to acquire talent.
Our coach is making choices that will improve our young guys, raise the profile and identity of the team and make us a more attractive option for free agents. In the meantime there will be bad losses and upsetting stretches.
Our players are finally all hard workers and are finally playing for the team and not themselves. However they are limited in skill and often poorly matched against opponents. Most importantly they all {except Duhon probably} have losing habits.

Re: Who will be the new 'escape'goat?
*sigh*
knicks were horrible with crawful and z-ro and they're horrible without crawful and z-ro
the team as a whole is bad and will be until it's gone. by 2010 the only guys who are here will be chandler, gallinari, and unfortunately curry and effries.
that's why it's best to have a bad year to get a lottery pick and to focus on the development of chandler, gallinari, and hopefully next years lottery pick.

In reality, it's just not a very good team right now. We're overmatched and it shows, particularly up front.

Haha the good old days when some fans only needed one excuse to still believe in the team.
First it was Layden's roster and capped out team, then Larry Brown, then the injuries, then Marbury, then Isiah the coach who couldn't use the players Isiah the GM acquired...LOL
I guess Donnie Walsh only needs to work on his PR skills and invent one excuse to sell the fans the program. Maybe we're losing because of the economic crisis ? LOL

great, well thought out post.. I agree. The sad thing is the lack of patience.... fans are just itching to blame walsh and D'antoni for not falling into the old habbits that got us in this mess in the first place... They should be happy, that some, time and thought is going into this process..
