I'm not saying the situation with Eddy Curry is good, but what makes you think his financial situation is so dire that he can't afford kicks? Are you just assuming?

Dude I'm being facetious. You can hone in on this all you want but that's ridiculous.

Dude, having read your past posts, it's not that far fetched.

I think the flip-flops were a clear indication on Eddy's part that he was sending a message to management and the coaching staff that he has done enough, that they should be happy that he as an athlete is conditioning himself in the offseason, and he shouldn't be asked to participate in workouts/practice with a bunch of rookies and fringe free agents. He was basically saying "I shouldn't have to play" without saying those words. That was a silent statement being made by him.

Who cares about weight? Just hope that he is able to become tradeable for expirings.

The story of Eddy Currys life gets better by the day. How dumb can you be showing up to practice without basketball shoes? Flip flops? Are you kidding me Eddy. His work ethic sucks and I wish we never got him. Can't wait till he is off the books. Geezus

No one reacts to this?!!

haha funny stuff but I think they meant he lost that from the juice fasting as well.

yeah I don't expect him to be at 285, 300-315 would be pretty decent, especially if he's at 328 now. the most important thing is if his body fat % is under 10.

wtf is up with showing up in flip flops?? hopefully he just left them at the hotel and didn't actually come to las vegas without sneakers. I could see if maybe he thought the first day would just be like a meet and greet.

To-do list for Eddy when you're expected to come to the gym:

1. Bring basketball shoes

Go on Dave, apply my colon-cleansing product. Apply it Dave. Do it.

Isn't he like the only center who abuses Dwight Howard? Why doesn't he just use his skills to live up to the "baby-Shaq" potential?

I don't remember anybody ever admitting that an NBA player was 360 lbs. Shaq certainly hit that figure, but nobody went around disclosing to the media. Has there ever been a heavier player in NBA history? 356 is the number his trainer is willing to admit to the media. Seriously, has there ever been a bigger dude to play in the league?

[Edit: just now seeing the NY Times thread that he was 365 at one point. Whoa.]

Flip Flops? This man is supposed to be a professional athlete. Weight loss or not, Eddy will be just as useless as ever.

Maybe Curry thought the team was going to provide him with sneakers. What is the regular season policy around providing Athletic gear? I would personally show up with my own gear and ready to show off my new speed and slimmer body, but Eddy might have different expectations.

I'll be very pleased if he can actually play some minutes. That alone is a miracle. I think the trainer is right. There is no going back. Curry is better off remolding the remaining weight.

his goal should be to get his body fat percentage down to 15-17%. that still is not peak nba shape but would be acceptable given his very weak will. but at 15-17% his weight would probably be between 275-290.

People are focusing too much on the weight. The trainer is saying that the next phase is to shape his body and build muscle, which by definition, will not allow him to lose more weight. Having said that, how do you show up with no sneakers.

So basically you're calling me and the trainer a liar, being that I said on the first page of this thread:

2010 wrote:Before someone comes in and retorts that we don't know that Weatherspoon is speaking about D'Antoni definitively, lets make it known that yesterday D'Antoni was quoted as saying he'd like to see Eddy Curry get down to about 285-290lbs by training camp. I'm to lazy to dig for the quote but maybe someone else will be kind enough to do so.
