I can definitely see us making a trade with another lottery team around draft day.

Portland could be trade partners

Honestly think we trade this pick. And have Jett as the newcomer next season.

Its tough to bring in two rookies when we’re not a proven playoff team yet. Black got minutes also because of injuries.

Whatever rookie we get is likely going to get the jett role this season and be sent to the gleague.

Don’t need any rookies next season. Black and Jett own those spots.

Give me 1 + 2 vets replacing Fultz and or Harris. Does Ingles have more in the tank?

We need high level talent period! Whether it's from a rookie, FA or trade.

Barring a trade from our core players, I see no scenario where this team gets better for the foreseeable future other than drafting high level players!

This years draft is 2 days. One night 1st round and the next night is 2nd. We can't trade our 2nd round pick for cash anymore because it will be televized :D

This off season Anthony Parker will have extend both Franz Wagner/Jalen Suggs and sign Fultz to a team friendly deal (2 yr/14 million dollar) deal because no other player on the market will take that discount

Hmmmm....
tough to judge his iq at this point given he is basically joining the team only in the midseason.

CORRECTION. He has beein in the states and in particular Kentucky since the offseason. He has been practicing with them already. What you meant is that he has only been granted permission to play in the NCAA 2-3 games ago.

That means he has been practicing/playing/learning the plays since last year already during practices.

I know this draft lacks Star power but provides good starters at the top and elite role players and good role players later.

Orlando could also use someone to back up Franz Wagner.

Mark Mitchell from Duke is very interesting.

I would like if any of Kentucky guards would drop to us somehow.

You saw the hitch or the funky shooting motion on his 3s? If people here rag on Fultz for that, imagine what they do to a drafted rookie

Which ones? Hope we luck out and not get the busts.

I was looking at Dilingham at first but all of a sudden he gets benched or cut back his PT? What happened?

Then there is Sheppard? Looks like a younger version of Jingles physically speaking.

Wagner? He has been out and injured so haven't really seen much of him.

There has been no Fox or SGA right now thata clearly screams next level in that team.

Question: When trading players on draft night, do you have to match potential salaries? I think the answer is no because no contracts have been sign but I'm curious if you draft the 1st pick and traded him for the 30th pick, would that team receiving the 1st pick have to match salaries or is it a wash?

Are you sure? there's a set salary structure for frps - there's no negotiation anymore for rookies. I don't know why there wouldn't be a cap hold, since each pick slot has a set salary (I think)

A player who has been selected in the draft but has not yet officially signed his rookie contract only has a cap hold if he was a first-round selection. A cap hold for a first-round pick is equivalent to 120% of his rookie scale amount, based on his draft position. An unsigned second-round pick doesn’t have a cap hold.

Draft sucks this year and we will be picking somewhere between 14-18...

So I dunno... A backup Forward or Point Guard that wont be riding the bench 5 seasons from now?

Frankly is doesn't matter and shouldn't be invested in it.

When your biggest weakness are "reliable veterans" and "lack of a 3rd option" typically both are not resolved by the 14-18 pick range. The ideal use of this pick if it isn't traded, is to get a guy who will probably fall in the 20-30 range as the high risk / high reward pick that you can either develop in G-League or is polished enough to be drafted on current status and not "future potential".

Again, veterans and 3rd scoring options aren't typically found here.

At that projected spot of ours, we probably get a 3rd 7ft C in case Goga leaves ( and WCJ injury ) or a young body to develop to what JI is.
