I did not like this trade the moment I read it involved 2 of our division rivals. Besides I would never give up our both picks, and Gortat for Udonis Haslem.

Despite the fact that Gortat is awful at PF for this team?

Wake up guys, Haslem is a UFA this summer with clear less MLE value - why do you trade for a guy who you can sign outright? I would take Haslem over Bass on the same contract - but I think Miami will be his 1st choice in FA. And I don't like Thornton here - our SF has to defend first, score second, not to mention that Al just doesn't ever pass the ball.
Can't trade Ryno - his contact is just too good for his value.

I'm against this trade, but trading for him allows us to keep the MLE, which can then be reused to resign Barnes, get a PG, or sign a backup C.

Usually, I let myself entertain rumors, but for some reason, I just don't think there is any truth to this trade. ...link, or it ain't true.

True, but Gortat is our best trading asset and its just dumb to use him in a trade for FA Haslem.
We should look for better value or better need like Battier for example.

I agree on Gortat. Plus I would rather sign Haslem outright then help Miami get better.

good to see that most of the posters here agree that this is a bad idea. although having haslem here would be ideal - we are giving up waaaay too much for him. i'm not sold on cook and thornton as well. we need to secure a big first and foremost and then a scoring sg next. we only gain temporary solutions with this deal. really doubt its credibility.

Really doubt of all sites, a "hip hop site" would be a reliable source for NBA news.

not that i'm a proponent of the trade, but do you even know how tall haslem is? besides, height is beside the point in today's game...

I forgot to mention I like the part from the OP that he got this information from a guy who got it from a hip hop website. Not anything to do with basketball... that really makes me question any truth to it at all even in the slightest. Nothing against the OP. It was a good topic to discuss.

Redick > Cook
Thorton > Barnes
haslem > 29th
But as said earlier we give up alot but it really is fair value imo ust dont see us trading within our division the nice thing about this is that it leaves us the full mle and bi annual to bring in CJ watson and a decent back up c
