Short again. Maybe we should change our name from UCF to UFSF (University Falling Short Forever).

to be fair this team was a bottom dweller 3 years ago. We were ranked all season and had a great season. I think this is the first time we've been above .500 in C-USA too.

It sucks we lost, but Stony Brook is a damn good team. They might not have name recognition but watch them play and you can tell they're really good.

Great season with a disappointing end. But all in all, another UCF program on the rise.

Stoney Brook beats LSU, giving some vindication for the loss....

Not only that. but they beat them pretty badly in LSU's house in front of an insane crowd. They might've lost Game 1 in extra innings, but they would've won that game had one of their players made the catch in foul territory. I don't know if he lost it in the lights or just goofed but he catches that and it's game in the 10th inning (I think). instead he drops it and that batter hits a HR for the tie and then LSU would win later.

Going into our matchup with Stoney Brook, we thought their record was only so great because of their weak SOS. I guess we're finding out that SOS isn't everything. This team can just play great baseball.

Interesting stuff.

USF men's basketball will open the newly renovated Sun Dome on Nov. 10 against Central Florida, bringing in the Bulls' future Big East rivals for the first of two games in the 2012-13 season.

The Bulls will also travel to face UCF in Orlando on Jan. 2, likely the final nonconference game of the season.

As a reminder,

The Bulls and Knights last played in November 2010, with UCF getting a 65-59 win in Orlando. The Bulls won 69-65 in Tampa in 2009, with the home teams winning in meetings in 2007 and 2008 as well. USF holds a 19-6 advantage in the overall series, including nine wins in a row before UCF's win in 2008.

lol Why do the UCF Knights get to take up a line at the top of the first page here when only three or four people care to write about them?

because it's the local university? And before this thread a lot of people would just start random UCF threads (not always sports related). It reduces the clutter during football season.

Just rumors that he is gone.

Nothing confirmed though

It seems weird there has been nothing concrete said yet. They received a commitment the other week that was reported the scholarship was available because he was leaving.

He's definitely gone off scholarship. The only question is whether he'll return as a walk-on. The rumor is that he's considering that option, as well as considering red-shirting so he can play his senior year in the Big East.

Probably more likely that he's considering hanging it up though. I think UCF probably told him we need a decision, or at least give up the scholarship and that's what he did.

FYI-

Daunte Culpepper is hosting a youth football clinic saturday adjacent to the Citrus Bowl with HOF'ers Art Monk, Darrell Green, along with Darcy Johnson, Fred Stokes and others.

I am doing the freelance piece for the Orlando Sentinel and am looking forward to interviewing Culpepper. The write-up will appear in Sunday's sports section......

The clinic is free but will be limited to 200 kids......
