Rumor: Kris Humphries Orlando Magic Bound?

"An NBA insider tells HollywoodLife.com the Orlando Magic are interested in acquiring Kris Humphries! Do you think Kim Kardashian would be happy in Florida?

Los Angeles might be losing Kim Kardashian. Even though there’s an NBA lockout right now, NBA teams are still speculating on their ideal teams for next season — and from the sounds of it her husband, Kris Humphries, has some interested teams!

“The Orlando Magic are seriously looking at Kris,” our source says. “They want to keep their star player, Dwight Howard, who is a free agent, and need a good utility player like Kris, so they can help their chances at being a title contender.”

Kris, 26, last played for the New Jersey Nets, but is currently unemployed. Out of all the cities where he could end up being hired, Orlando might not be so bad for Kim since it’s near Miami, where her sisters shot their reality show. However, Kim and Kris shouldn’t start packing their bags just yet."

“It’s really going to depend on the NBA lockout and when it’s completed,” the insider explains. “The lockout agreement will determine how much money teams can spend on players. There are going to be salary cap issues, so interest doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll be his best contract offer.”

That would be awesome! This team could really use a young power forward and a rebounding specialist. Now If we could just add a 3 point shooter, we would be on our way to a title and keeping Dwight in pinstripes.

I'm up for anything that bring Kim Kardashian's ass to Orlando.

BTW, did anyone actually keep up with Humphries last season? How did he do?

I remember some rumblings of him picking it up at the tail end of the season or something.

The only way I would want Humphries here is if he came with Deron williams for Arenas and hedo! :D

Ya, statistically it was his best year ever, averaging 10 and 10. But if we get Kris we have to trade a power forward. Can't have a log jam of Bass, Ryno, and Kardashian fighting for time.

Humphries started 44 of 74 games he played, averaged 10 pts, 10 reb, 1.1 blocks per game in 28mpg. I'd say that's pretty solid. Given that he's only 26, I'd welcome him at least as a back-up to one of the two 4s we currently have. He would make one expendable so we'd be able to not worry about the 4 and use one of either Ryno or Bass as trade bait.

I'd personally prefer to see a rotation of Ryno/Humphries at the 4

We'll probably get him and use him as a back up center....

I would be happy with Kris Humphries. That must mean that Bass is out. I say we package him up with Nelson to try and get an upgrade at the SF spot. The Pacers are trying to trade Granger and all they want back is a PG to replace TJ Ford and backup for Hibbert. So maybe a deal like this will get it done.

Nelson
Bass
Orton
Furture 1

For

Granger

Then we can use the MLE on Brandon Haywood (or some other back up big) once the Mavs cut him. I also think that Ryan Anderson is going to be traded. He is duplicate talent to Justin Harper. Maybe we can package him up with Duhon to get back a better back up poing guard. Then all we have to do is used the Amnesty Clause to get rid of Hedo and sign back Jason Richardson.

New roster:

Arenas, (New Back up Point Guard)

J Rich , JJ

Granger, Q Rich, J Rich

Humphries, Harper

Howard, Haywood ( or other big)

That looks pretty good, actually.

I wonder how realistic the chances are? Doesn't seem very farfetched to me.

Absolutely agree with upgrading at the 3. The idea of Q starting for us terrifies me.

Humphries would certainly provide a different skill set for the 4 then we've been use to seeing, though I do wonder how diminishing returns would effect his rebounding impact being paired next to Dwight. I'm of the opinion that the PF spot is solid and doesn't need tinkering. I'm more than happy to stick with Anderson/Bass.

yeah rrrright...
only way he becomes a magic player is in a howard trade...

he's worth more than the mle.
the nets intended to pay him anyway after he had a very good season for them.
and being one of the more interested teams in orlando not upgrading its roster - they'd never allow themselves to lose him to orlando for mle money...

but regardless, very good strategic move on his part to spread this rumor...

IF we do acquire Humphries. We should trade Bass. Tired of that selfish jump-shot that is only 40% chance of going in.
Just my two cents

I doubt he is much better than Bass or Anderson. He could just be another Scalabrine on a bad team. But, who knows if he continues to develop. Besides, Anderson has made major strides the last 2 seasons and would like to see how far he can go.

he did play better towards then end but thats cause they traded favors and murphy so he had more playing time. but in reality his numbers are very inflated
1. he was on a contract year players always look better in a contract year (ex. Hedo)
2. he plays for the nets a team that has no real go to players so he can take whatever shot he wants and they miss alot of shots which creates more rebounds
3. he plays next to lopez who doesnt rebound so humphries rebound stats are way inflated
4. the only reason people no him is because he married Kim K. (which im not opposed to haveing that fine ass running around Orlando)
does he even have a midrange game? from what i saw he was nothing but dunks and put backs. if we trade bass and start anderson i guess hed be good off the bench but some poor team is prob gonna offer more then the mle to him, if there even is one still, so i doubt we can afford him
