Player Rumor: 3 Team Trade for Dwight

Post#1 » by Orange Ave. » Wed Feb 29, 2012 3:45 am

I'll dispense with all the qualifiers about sources and whatnot. I hope people here remember I don't post junk or speculation.

I'll just say that I spoke to a player this weekend in town for All-Star weekend.

His agent told him to prepare for a trade. The big pieces looked like this: (hold your breath)

Chandler Parsons, Kevin Martin, and Andrew Bynum to Orlando.

Dwight to L.A.

...nothing else was known to him except everything I just said. The player I talked to was one of the above named players.

obviously, many pieces are missing. TAKE IT FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH. This DID come from the players mouth. I have to believe him when he says his agent told him to prepare for that.

Will it happen? I dunno. But there you go.

So...you talked to Chandler Parsons.

I'm surprised he's getting as much of an opportunity as he is in Houston, my judgement on his playing ability is clouded by some off the court stuff I've seen and heard from him.

That's not a terrible return for Dwight if we unload the rest of our bad contracts, of course both Bynum AND Martin are brittle.

Also-- our best to Magic Girl.

And that video you made for game 6 vs Boston was one of the best things from that playoff run and this website. Awesome.

I cant believe Bynum and role players are the best we can get for Dwight
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

I would be ecstatic with this if we got Houston's pick, LA pick, and dumped a combo of turk ,baby, duhon or Meer AND get scola & dragic back as well

I'd rather have Lopez, Brooks, draft picks than this :-?

btw thanks for the info Orange (for ballboys on here, this guy is legit)... send our regards to our fav magic girl lol

Edit!... the draft pick we would receive be protected or unprotected?...

It's more important to dump bad contracts than get equal talent back. Orlando can attract free agents, the issue is having the money to do it.

very true... if we can get rid of Duhon, Hedo, BBD, etc.. any of those guys, it's fair imo

I guess that would be fine but prolly Scola would be going back to LA

my feeling is this, if we could trade dwight and secure Kentucky's Anthony Davis, the rest of the pieces would be irrelevant to me. Clear space, add a great C and SG and up-and-coming SF stud (Parsons) on top of a chance to nab Davis?... I'll take it.

For me, its all about the lottery. And I ASSUME we dont trade Dwight unless good picks are part of the deal. (I may assume too much, but I still trust Otis)

You would think that we could get DWill form the Nets if we told them we had a trade lined up with LAL... but this is Otis we're talking about. That return SUCKS if we're not getting rid of at least Hedo.

But i thought NJ owns the Rockets pick this year and Davis is sure to go number one so rockets would be at the back end so we would have to get really lucky to grab him

This missing parts would be Scola, Gasol and Turkoglu.

ROCKETS GET:
Pau Gasol
Lakers TPE (used for Scola)

LAKERS GET:
Dwight Howard
Louis Scola
Hedo Turkoglu

MAGIC GET:
Andrew Bynum
Kevin Martin
Chandler Parsons

If the Lakers don't use the TPE Jonny Flynn would be involved heading to either of the Lakers or Magic.

I couldn't agree more. All I care about is getting Anthony Davis... or at least the opportunity.
