How about:

Orlando trades: jj, Turk, 3 mil, and next years #1 (hornets) and jameer (Memphis)
Orlando receives: Rudy gay, josh smith, and #10 pick.

Hornets trades: ariza (Memphis), okafor (atl), #10 (Orlando)
Hornets receive: jj, Turk, 3 mil, 1 rd pick 2013 from Orlando

Memphis trades: Rudy gay (Orlando)
Memphis receives: jameer (Orlando) and ariza (hornets)

Atlanta trades: josh smith (Orlando)
Atlanta receives: okafor (hornets)

Of course this is the start of a trade, but might need tweeking. I can see some reasoning for each team doing this trade. Orlando gets the #10 pick and picks up pg in draft to fill void left by jameer. Orlando then can trade Anderson and maybe package duhon to get rid of our last horrible contract.

Orlando
Marshall/vet f.a./ish
Jrich/liggins/f.a.
Gay/qrich/2 rd pick
Jsmith/Clark/Harper
D12/bbd/f.a. Or orton

Gay and Smith would be talent around Howard. And Richardson-2 is a capable starter. But Orlando will not be able to start a rookie PG and be a title contender.

The above probably prices Orlando out of a Raymond Felton, Kirk Hinrich, or Andre Miller. Could a Chauncey Billups or Baron Davis be added? Let's call it Billups on the MLE. Let's also add Willie Green as a LLE guy to fill out wing depth. And Ryan Hollins for Center depth. (Orton is gone).

This would lead to, with your above:
Billups/Marshall/Smith-1
Richardson-2/Green/Liggins
Gay/Richardson-1
Smith-2/Davis/Harper
Howard/Hollins/Clark

This is not a balanced roster, but a trade here or there could easily make it one. I like this team!

well maybe a s&t with Ryan for Lowry of Houston might get the veteran we need and have Marshall as back up. Lowry is said to want to leave Houston

Yeah that's kind of a one sided trade. No one but the magic do it. The Grizz will probably dump Rudy Gay to Charlotte for Kidd-Gilchrist in a draft night trade.

I'm thinking we might actually talk with Milwaukee about a Monta Ellis trade though. Monta and Gooden for S&T Ryno, Turk and a future pick.

A new rumor has NOH trading the overall #1 with Okafor and Ariza for Howard. If Orlando could flip their #19 for the #10 in this, perhaps by adding Anderson in a SnT deal, then Orlando would go for Davis and Marshall. This is really like turning back the clock to 2004 when Orlando took Howard and Nelson. Talk about a reboot.

Anyhow, the roster would be before any FA signings or trades are made (I always assume Duhon to be cut):
Nelson/Marshall/Smith
Richardson-2/Redick/Richardson-1
Turkoglu/Ariza/Liggins
Davis-2/Clark/Harper
Davis-1

Orlando needs to obtain 2 Centers, and perhaps trade a Richardson or two in that. But this is a better starting point than the 2004 season when the Magic was:
Francis/Nelson
Mobley/Stevenson/Augmon
Hill/Turkoglu/Christie
Howard/Barrett/Garrity/Hunter
Cato/Battie/Kasun

There are a lot of nice-sounding names above, but this was a structurally flawed team that went nowhere, and had no capacity for future growth and development.

Would be very interesting if NOH wanted to trade the #1 pick, but it seems unlikely ..

i doubt the validity of that rumor when we don't even have a GM in place......if there is smoke it's probably not coming from our side......
