If we can trade away JRich, I wouldn't mind Roy on a 1 yr deal to backup JJ.

so orlando lost shaq, penny, tmac, and maybe dwight.

toronto lost tmac, carter and bosh. they've been in the league a lot less time than orlando. but yet toronto fans are still toronto fans.
GetItDone I've already stated they (Clippers) will make at least the WCF or else I will post a video of myself eating my own pubes.

They've never been close to winning it all either. Their teams plateaued at just above average. Their stars had good reasons to leave.

Not saying I wouldn't still be a fan, what I am saying is I'd be done with this ownership. I've never been a huge RDV guy, and all his good morals is a giant crock.....Amway.....cough....cough. He is a clueless old man who hires idiots and made his billions ripping people off with crappy products and multi-level marketing scams. Orlando will always be my team, but if we hire Bower and lose Dwight that will be the last straw with me and RDV

I think that's a little harsh considering the man is currently spending the most money in the league to try and get us a championship. You sound like a spoiled child whose mom just refused to buy him a toy. We may make some terrible decisions but it is not RDV's fault.

In what world is it not his fault?! He is responsible for every person in that front office. Last time I checked he was the one who let Vander Weide run the team, who made hires like Weisbroad and Otis. And he appointed Martins. RDV is responsible, and just because he blindly and stupidly spends money does not make him a good owner

And why did you choose to leave out the fact that he personally meets the candidates and has final say on who gets his front office positions. So Bower would be 1000% on RDV, just like its 1000% on RDV for putting a guy with zero basketball knowledge at the helm of the ship (Martins)....AGAIN!

As frustrating as it would be to experience a regression in competitiveness, entering into a new relationship with new management and a new direction would offer plenty of intrigue. The quest for a new franchise player and then the subsequent building around said player would offer a sharp contrast to our experience with Dwight Howard. Honestly though, I think Dwight is staying and we'll be spared the hunt for franchise talent and instead strap in as we craft short and medium term plans to surround him with talent.

I agree. RDV does spend a lot of money, but my problem with the ownership is that there seems to be either a lack of apathy or knowledge toward putting together a good basketball team. I don't think he or his son knows much about ball, and they have had a tendency to hire people in their family or people they know with little basketball knowledge. Vander Weide is a prime example. He doesn't know anything about basketball but is yet calling shots. He leaves and then Alex, again a basketball novice, is placed in charge, with Adonal Foyle as his right-hand man. It would have helped had our GM been a good basketball mind, but he himself had no clue what to do. I don't believe that an owner with modest basketball knowledge would have allowed Otis to last as long as he did.

Devos runs the Magic like a business and that's where we fail. Again, yes, Devos spends a lot of money, but it's all misplaced.

Weren't we 1st or 2nd in win percentage the past 4-5 years? How many ECOF did we make? How many times did we make it to the finals under Devos? Yet he doesn't know how to run a team. I'm pretty sure we've had more success than the Cavs.. I think it's hilarious everyone is loving the Cavs even though they had Lebron James and couldn't get him better 2nd player than Mo Williams. That ownership did really great!

I thought I saw a stat before that since our franchise was created we were tied for something like 4th in the league in win percentage. Might've been just the east. Still a pretty damn good accomplishment.

The NBA is a business. Whether you choose to believe it or not they prioritize making money ahead of winning, although they're almost always directly related. RDV is no Jerry Buss, but he couldn't have done anything to convince Shaq to stay, he didn't miss that layup in the finals, he didn't know Grant Hill would be perennially injured, he didn't drunk dial Dwight, and he certainly did not make those recent god awful trades. We've made some bad decisions as a collective franchise, so whether you choose to believe that falls on the man writing the checks is your own decision. I think you guys are ignoring what we've accomplished already as a young franchise though.
