Hey Phil Jackson, Red still has 6 Rings on you!!!

Postby TheMagicOne on Sat Jun 16, 2012 8:37 pm

I am one to believe that the Magic are indeed still talking to Phil Jackson. SO if this is the case. I would like to point out to Phil that since he chased Red's 9 rings as a coach, I for one would love to see him chase Red's 7 rings as a GM/Team President of our Orlando Magic.

Just thought I would bring this little nugget up, since we still have no GM, Team President or Coach.

This is probaly the best point because Phil was once asked if he were to build a team around a current up and coming star like LeBron, Howard, Wade etc who would he choose. His answer was DWIGHT HOWARD. Well Phil now is your chance.

Very True, Imagine if he took a team over as the GM architect like Red did and he wins multiple championships. He would go down in history as a better basketball mind than Red. I say 2 as a player 10 as a coach and 7-8 as a GM would be just about what it would take. and I for one would like those 7 to 8 Championships to be right here.

It has been too quiet, even in Phil's latest interview he refused to even discuss anything, which is not completely like Phil. Maybe my hopes are set too high, but I am hoping beyond hope that the silence is because of a negotiation between Phil and the Magic Ownership. If they could pull that off, us fans would never again have a reason to doubt ownership's commitment to bringing home the title to Orlando.

He has 11 as a coach, 6 with the Bulls and 5 with the Lakers. Just saying.

except that Phil has zero experience as a GM, scouting, running finances, etc. I get that people want a winning atmosphere in Orlando, and Phil possibly could be good, but he could be very bad as a GM also.

Just so I understand you, are you saying you would not want Phil as a GM with the Magic?

Did he not say he's not interested in coming to Orlando as a whatever you want him to be?

Lindsey or Henny for the win as GM. Screw Bower.

Don't want Jackson unless he's coaching for us. I've seen Pat Riley land some pretty good FA's over the years. Mourning, Lebron, Bosh. Who came to play for Phil? Rodman? I'm pretty sure he came to win rings and join Jordan. Malone at the end of his career? How many draft pick steals did the Lakers get in the late rounds?
That kind of worries me when he doesn't have any Front Office experience. I think we would all agree that the Laker gift trades were Jerry West and Mitch Kupcheck. The Zen masters a coach...don't want him unless he's holding the clip board.
