Nice video share. He's a PF and even those analysts at the combine agree. He doesn't have the footspeed to be a good SF. I don't like player comparisons because they never work 100%, but I liken his game to Lamarcus Aldridge's. Not quite the same rebounder, but the body movement style, jump shot and defense is similar.

I see him in the mold of an Antawn Jamison type, but more of a shotblocker.

I don't have a clue how his defense will turn out, I don't see a KG in him. Except for blocking, not much was made of his defense in profiles I think.

He can be his own unique player tho if he can do those post moves from college into the NBA. This is where I'm most hopeful. He defintely could use more lifting for strength, but some of those moves like the fakes, up and unders/high IQ type post play, should be translating to the NBA already I hope. In this light, Id see him more as a PF Al Jeff but with more comfortable range.

One would not on paper project Nicholson as a KG nor a A. Jefferson. But if he develops into a serviceable PF that can play starters minutes, then, at #19, this is a quality pick.

If you're expectations on him are low, then I think you're setting yourself up for a nice rewarding surprise when he turns into an All Star!!!

He needs to work on his man defense....he also needs to put on a bit more muscle to bang defensively....but man his post moves are sharp....

Man, those clips on his post D look pretty bad. In his defense, those clips seemed to be cherrypicked to fit that narrative, and the offensive players did put on some nice moves. Also, one could argue Andrew had to play more lax D than he would've liked because his team couldn't afford him to foul out.

His post D looks bad, but it's also looks like a matter of effort. Didn't seem like he was trying to hard.

I love the post play. Looks like a very solid pick to me. He plays with passion too and seems to be a team guy.

My prediction for Nicholson's career: quality reserve or occasional all star. I think he either 'gets it' and becomes a darn good player, a core guy, or he falls short but still makes an impact as a 25-29 MPG guy, a la Redick. Either way he is a solid pick.

he'll be interesting to watch. he's got brains, he's still relatively new to the game, so he's got potential to make big strides, he's got good footwork, he's got long arms.

has all the tools to at least be a valuable role player.

i want more guys like JJ on the team. in fact, i'd be happy to turn this team over to JJ now. let him be the captain, and give him his chance as a starter. let others follow someone who knows what it takes to do the hard yards.

Is that X-pac? He's still alive?
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.
