This Georgetown-Syracuse game is tough to watch...Porter is looking very solid but it is BRICK CITY other than him. Where did all the offensive talent in the college game go??

The more I learn about this, the more I'am leaning towards drafting Smart. I'am seeing this draft turn out like the 2000 draft where no one knew who was getting picked first.
Mclemore had academic issues and got arrested for missing a court date in HS. Meanwhile, Smart is lauded for his leadership. Besides have you guys heard Smart speak? He seems pretty intelligent.

-6'9" PF....A guy who can score inside & outside, has a VERY VERY VERY nice shot from mid-range all the way out to the 3 point line. Last year he had a knee injury, but before he had a 40+ inch vertical & he has got a lot of that back. Been posting really really impressive numbers. Past 2 months he has been on a tear scoring...21, 34, 18, 27, 18, 36, & now 25 in that time frame....Really hope Detroit gets into the big tourney so people take notice of him & McCallum more......both very impressive.
UK plays at 9
Otto Porter Jr lit up Syracuse...33 points on 12-19 shooting, 5-10 from 3, 8 boards, 2 dimes, 5 steals, 1 TO & played all 40 mins

Anthony Bennett came out of the game after four minutes with what the team is calling a left shoulder injury and he never returned.

Re: Official Draft Thread: Prospects Watch
Man the 3 freshman for Kentucky are impressing the hell out of me tonight.
Poythress 19 points on 8-9 shooting, 7 boards, 2 dimes, 1 block, 0 TOs
-He has been attacking all night & his athletic ability is extremely impressive. Really attacking the glass & working hard. Also has a nice looking jumper.
Goodwin 14 points on 6-10 shooting, 2-3 from 3, 2 boards, 1 dime, 5 TOs!!!
-Every time I watch Kentucky play there is no doubt that Goodwin is the BEST athlete on the floor, but he is just always out of control & moving way too fast (expected as a freshman). Tonight he has been much better in that area, & when he is hitting shots there is no way to guard him. IF he puts it all together he has ALLSTAR potential, no doubt about it. All the tools are there, just gotta get his mind right.
Willie Cauley-Stein 5 points on 2-6 shooting, 8 boards, 6 blocks!!!, 1 TO
-This guy is gonna go very high in the draft. His potential is pretty high. Big NBA body & moves very well for a big guy. His defense is very good & I'm surprised at how well he passes the ball. He honestly is doing everything that Noel would be doing out there this game. I only expect him to get better & better as the season progresses & tourney play comes along.
Kentuckys fate holds in these 3 freshmans hands, I am pretty excited to see how they will be respond down the stretch in the SEC & possibly March Madness.

He's good
UNLV freshman forward Anthony Bennett went to the bench with 15:55 left in the first half of a blowout victory at Wyoming and didn’t return the rest of the game because of a left shoulder injury, coach Dave Rice said.
“He slept on it wrong,” Rice said, adding he didn’t hear about the shoulder stiffness until the team’s shootaround at Arena-Auditorium on Saturday morning.

Re: Official Draft Thread: Prospects Watch
As the days pass, the more Smart looks like the obvious choice.
Developing our rookie next year will be big, but so will tanking for one of Wiggins/Parker.
As an Orlando fan from Toronto i'd be ecstatic if Wiggins ended up on Orlando.. after drafting Marcus Smart
Smart*/Udrih/Nelson - Udrih/Nelson are both solid, Nelson is a leader, but injury prone.
Wiggins*/Afflalo/Moore/Lamb - Wiggins is a superstar, Afflalo/Moore are both solid. Lets watch Lamb develop.
Harkless/Harris/Jones - Young, developing SF rotation. Really impressed by Harkless personally.
Nicholson/Warrick/Harrington/Davis - Hope we can drop some of these contracts. Prof.Drew is showing promise.
Vucevic/O'Quinn - Big fan of both players. Vooch is something special too!

Only problem is Wiggins will play SF in the NBA and the Magic probably won't keep Udrih.

Re: Official Draft Thread: Prospects Watch
I'm liking Oladipo more than McLemore now. I'll take his defense and energy to be aggressive any day. We need the defense badly too.
A big reason I liked McLemore is I was hoping for a Bradley Beal effect, a guy who takes and makes the smart shots but there are more bad comps than good for players like that.
Right now, my dream draft is a 100% certainty of getting Oladipo and Smart. That's two X factor guys on one team, and a team full of athletic attackers to the hoop with great spacing and rebounding big men in Vuc, Nich and OQuinn.

Re: Official Draft Thread: Prospects Watch
Smart honestly makes the most sense for us to pick, Noel would have but i don't want to risk a top 3 pick on a guy with a bad knee. Smart has Deron Williams upside IMO, just has to be less reckless
aol4532 on bill russell
I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

That's my dream, too. With Oladipo and Smart's work ethic and dedication, they could become a perennial NBA All Defensive Team backcourt. Even though it'd still take some years to contend, it'd be a good tandem moving forward as only three teams since 1980 have won a championship without a player on the All Defensive Team (Miami Heat '06, Rockets '95, Celtics '81).
How to get another high pick, though? I don't know.

I'd love Smart and Oladipo together and it may have been a possibility back in January. Both guys will go Top 5 in June I'm afraid.
