Just saying all the reports from scouts on him say that he has the potential to be a defensive monster.
Why else would he be a lottery pick with almost no offensive game?

Re: Official Draft Thread: Prospects Watch
Zo Brown will be on ESPN2 at 7. A possible PG target with that Bucks pick (if we acquire it) & Burke is off the board & we go McLemore with our pick.
He got off to a slow start coming off his knee injury, but he has been playing great since ACC play.
Has NBA size, speed, & play making ability. Probably the best PG in college at pushing the tempo.
Has to hit down his jump shots more consistently & he has a tendency to wanna make a highlight play when he should just settle for the simple play.
It's only his second year being a PG (since Ryan Harrow ditched NC State & he got thrown in the fire) so he has plenty of room to grow at that position.
NBA scouts love him though & IMO he is the 3rd best PG prospect behind Smart/Burke

Marcus Smart = Eric Snow/Rodney Stuckey
Mclemore & Burke is a win in my book. Afflalo isn't here for the long haul...we'll trade him next year at the deadline for another first.

Got injured and suddenly everybody forgets he was the highest rated PG in the country coming in. Big time prospect that everybody is sleeping on (out of sight, out of mind). Reminds me more of a Deron Williams type then Lillard.
A smart coach once said, "Potential just means you're not good enough yet." Playing on potential is like living on air: It's essential, but if thats all you have, you're eventually going to starve.

Oladipo is my favorite player to watch in college ball. Unfortunately, I think his stock propels him out of range for us to pick him, if we were to acquire another 1st round pick.

With so many "experts" tabbing Zeller, Noel, or even Muhammad #1, it is looking quite possible that McLemore could be available at #2.
McLemore might be the Magic's destiny here!

I'm more sold on Smart now; wouldn't be mad if we get either him or Noel, who was my clearcut #1 before his injury. Down are McLemore and Shabazz. Still very against drafting Bennett.

Probably Paul Pierce. Drew Gooden and Kirk Hinrich are worth a note. And let's not forget the most important Jayhawk for Orlando: Jacque Vaughn.

Drew Gooden and Kirk Hinrich are the epitome of what I mean about overhyped Kansas products.
...and Pierce is the opposite. The one Kansas player who went underhyped.
Overall, I just don't buy the hype of Jayhawks. I mean come on... out of their entire history you chose the names Drew Gooden and Kirk Hinrich in your top 3. Add McLemore to that list.

McLemore isn't bad at all, I can definitely see him succeed in the NBA. Nice shooting, good shooting consistency, great athleticism. It's just his defense and low assist numbers that would make me hesitate, but those are not big problems since he got the tools to play defense.
Another negative is his age -- he's a year older than the other Freshmen, which explains why he's more developed than most of them, so he should be considered a Sophomore instead.
Fire Otis!
