Not the biggest fan of his, but if he can learn how to play the PG position & showcase that this year he would take a major leap in next years draft.

Really like BJ I thought of monta ellis as soon as I saw this. my one real gripe is hes short for a sg and i dont think he has the instincts to play pg but man is he lightning quick

Yea the guy is crazy quick. If he can come out & show PG capabilities his draft stock will skyrocket.

Tell me he wouldn't be the EXACT kind of player the Spurs would draft? HAHAHA

I see him as a good complimentary piece to a championship team which is why hed work perfect on the spurs but right now I think were in need of a franchise player and i dont see that in him right now

Yea I def wouldn't suggest the Magic taking him. Now if we were a piece away from being major competitors he could fit our offense perfectly.

CBS Article on Zo Brown:

Image

Phil Pressey, Trey Burke, Aaron Craft. Those are the guys most consider the cream of the crop in a fairly deep point guard contingent heading into the season.

Add Lorenzo Brown to that elite group.

North Carolina State's junior point guard has taken his game to a new level, one that will ultimately put him with the top floor leaders in the nation. One year ago, shortly after new coach Mark Gottfried anointed him as the full-time point guard, Brown was consistently making poor decisions with the ball in his hands.

"I definitely questioned whether I could do it," Brown said about running the team. "I was always frustrated in practice and in the preseason. I wasn't making the right decisions."

Brown was always a scoring guard, someone who was certainly versatile enough to play both backcourt positions but was almost always played at shooting guard because of his size and ability to score. Then it all changed when Ryan Harrow bolted for Kentucky following the coaching change. Gottffried said he would have moved Brown to the point even if Harrow had remained, but who knows how that would have played out.

I remember seeing Brown in March in Columbus when he nearly put up a triple-double (17 points, nine rebounds, eight assists) against San Diego State. Two days later I watched him go for 12 points, seven assists and six boards against Georgetown as he helped lead NC State to a Sweet 16 appearance. He wound up averaging 12.7 points, 6.3 assists and 4.5 boards per game -- not bad for a guy who managed to fly under the radar for the most part.

Brown was terrific in the NCAA tournament -- and he elevated his play this past offseason.

Now he's become consistent while running the team. He pushes the ball when needed and creates easy opportunities for his teammates. Expect him to improve upon his 35 percent from beyond the arc a year ago. He's quick and athletic enough to get to the basket and strong enough to finish once he gets there -- and he also brings it on the defensive end of the floor. He's also got the size (6-foot-6 with shoes) that most of his peers at the point guard spot don't possess.

I honestly can't find a weakness in his game.

I love Pressey, but he's small and doesn't shoot it great. Burke is terrific, especially as a shooter, but he's not a great athlete. He is also small in stature and needs to work on the defensive end. Craft is the best perimeter defender in the nation, but his perimeter shot needs work. Brown has it all.

Maybe it's a lack of a vocal presence, but that's nit-picking. Then again, that's what you start to do with well-round players such as Brown, attempt to find something that needs work. Right now there's not much.

"I wouldn't trade him for anyone," Gottfried said. "And he's only getting better."

Usually, I shake my head with skepticism when coaches lay out that line -- unless they are talking about LeBron James, Kevin Durant or Kobe Bryant. But I'm not sure I'd trade Brown for any point guard in the nation right now. Even Pressey, our Preseason First-Team All-American.

"I respect all of their games," Brown said of the point guards who are ranked in front of him. "I watch highlights of all of them to pick up what they do well."

By the end of the season, they'll also be watching Brown.

Brown is an elite point guard. Not just in the ACC, but in the entire country. There's nothing this kid can't do. He's got the physical tools -- the size and scoring ability, but now he's added command of the point guard position. He simply does it all: He makes his teammates better, can shoot it from deep, gets into the lane, is able to post-up smaller point guards and also defends. If N.C. State wins the ACC this season, Brown will be the primary reason.

12. Atlanta Hawks, CJ Leslie SF/PF
13. Utah Jazz, Ryan Harrow PG
14. Dallas Mavericks, BJ Young PG/SG
15. Toronto Raptors, Trey Burke PG
16. Chicago Bulls, Patric Young PF/C
17. *Utah Jazz, Rudy Gobert C
18. Minnesota Timberwolves, Alex Len C
19. Indiana Pacers, LeBryan Nash SF

Alex Kennedy ‏@AlexKennedyNBA
Nerlens Noel (@NerlensNoel3) was impressive in Kentucky's exhibition opener: 17 points, 11 rebounds, 4 blocks. NBA fans, keep an eye on him.

What does everyone think about Ricardo Ledo, he is a 6'7" 195 lbs. freshmen going to Providence. He has gotten a lot of hype after showing out against John Wall but he is looking like he could be a strong riser after the season.

How about Ryan Harrow from Kentucky.

I could have sworn that kid was 5'11". Could have been an old height check, but I remember reading that and saying pass.

What other Point Guards are there in 2013? Any more intriguing ones?

i like myck kabongo but I dont think he would go in the lottery

Ledo and Harkless have purportedly had some sort of past confrontation. Harkless "ran Ledo off the team," and from what I've discerned reading online, the two are not best friends. Not sure if that's just the media talking, but something to take into account when considering Ledo and this team. Google for more in the way of details.

“One of the first real conversations I had with Moe, I realized how mature and calculating he is,’’ Dan Barto, the head skills trainer at IMG Academy in Florida, where Harkless has been preparing for the June 28 NBA Draft, told The Post.

“He was telling me his goals, and he said he expects to achieve them. He told me there really isn’t a goal he hasn’t achieved. When he got to St. John’s and there were all these other top recruits, he was their best player.

“He told me there was another kid in his prep school, Ricky Ledo, who a lot of people were talking about. Moe ran him out of the school. He just put it in his mind that he was going to go after that kid every day on the court. Moe doesn’t say a lot, but don’t be fooled. He’s a tough, mature, calculating kid.’’

Michigans exhibition game against Saginaw Valley.

They actually have quite a few NBA prospects, but by far my favorite is Trey Burke. He finished with 16 points 8 dimes in 21 minutes

He is very good at running an offense & he is extremely good in the PnR game. He really doesn't have any flaws on the offensive end. You leave him open he will def knock down the shoot & he is very good & getting his teammates open looks. Also really good at finishing with both hands at the rim.

You guys know I love Lorenzo Brown, but Burke is a very close 2nd for me at the PG position. If he was a couple inches taller he would be a lottery lock IMO, but he does have a very good wingspan for a PG.

Nov 27th Trey & Zo go head to head on ESPN. CANT WAIT!!!

Wiggins is the closest thing I have seen to Tmac since Durant elite athlete but can also shoot the ball and get any shot he wants......

BTW NCAA season starts tonight
aol4532 on bill russell
I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.
