Man if he was bigger he would be the best PG in this draft.

Stupid genes haha, but I still think somebody gets a very good player in him probably in the 2nd round. He is def capable of leading a second unit & being a spark off the bench.

Smart is 7/10 with 24 points, 2 assists, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals right now against K-State. Starting to separate himself from the other point guards for me.

Thoughts on Anthony Bennett? Reminds me of Millsap.

Really liking Smart's play right now but one thing that gives me some pause with him is his handle; very loose and not all that crisp. He's got a pretty high turnover ratio in college so I'm curious if it'll be even higher at the next level.

Anybody else see kyle lowry when you watch Smart play?

Marcus Smart to me is still a 2 guard and would be best suited playing the 2 in the nba, that being said I would still love him on this team. Although Trey Burke is still my number one point guard and is on my top five list for guys I want on this team.

Weiland is not so high on Smart anymore.

Man, if he were 7 inches taller, he could have been the second coming of Paul Pressey. Wouldn't mind having him as a 2nd rounder.

I think he is more explosive than that...I think he is more of a poor man's Larry Johnson/Charles Barkley. Haven't seen all that much of him though.

I still think Trey Burke is the best PG in the draft. Deshaun Thomas is the guy that reminds me of Millsap.

Wiggins / Exum / J. Adams
Parker / K. Anderson / Mcdermott

CJ McCollum out 8-10 weeks with broken foot.

Also, just watched Kansas barely scrape by Temple. Was not in the least impressed by McLemore's game.

Finally, anyone paying attention to Kentucky's 2014 recruitment class? Next year, they're bringing in #1-ranked HS point guard (Andrew Harrison), #1 ranked HS shooting guard (Aaron Harrison), #2 ranked HS shooting guard (James Young), and now Dakari Johnson, #1-ranked HS center. The Wildcats have previously received a commitment from the #3 ranked HS center (Karl Towns Jr.). They are also very much in the mix for (likely) one of Andrew Wiggins (#1 ranked SF) or Julius Randle (#2 ranked SF). Finally, the team has a commitment from the #11 Ranked HS PF (Marcus Lee). WTF is Calipari telling these kids?

Kentucky is like the pre-NBA program already, and the Monstars version of college basketball.

MCW getting flak here, but I think he's maybe the best PG prospect and maybe available in that 7th pick area. That one article on height and steals/rebounds looks like an oversimplified projection on MCW being a legit star prospect but I basically agree to some degree. The AST, AST/TO, STL, REB and FTA all look great in translating for the NBA. From highlights, he looks like he knows how to play a real team system game and use his game to attack and pass at the right spots. Almost 40% of his possessions end in an assist. The only concern is scoring and %'s and who's his NBA comparison. I like the comps because even when they're off they still give an idea to what teams may be trying to do with the players. But ESPN notes him with a killer instinct and an aggressive scorer in the draft profile and with the typical youtube clips, it also looks like he's aggressive and not just trying to be a passing post like some of the extreme passing PG's through college ball. He is 4th in the team in scoring and yet is still only about 2.5 ppg off of their leading scorer. If his %'s normalize or improve, he'd probably be leading scorer and not in the gunner way that'd get annoying to see at times.

I've got a fan-crush on MCW just because years of watching Penny Hardaway play ruined me for all PGs under 6'7".

Carter-Williams is worse and older than Burke and Smart.

Tall PGs doesn't work anymore. Lebron & Hedo are great ball handlers, and they can't play PG for long period of time. IMO the perfect PG should be less than 6'4, plenty of size and still has all the speed and quickness of a smaller guy.

Just like with Reece Gaines, we can't get drawn to the height. MCW is a good college player but I think he'll struggle in the NBA. Comparatively, Marcus Smart seems like a someone built for the NBA.
