Coward..Coward..Coward.. chant ala Raptors fans.

Postby Mr-Magic on Tue Sep 04, 2012 9:44 am

Didn't know where to put this, forgive me if I placed this idea on the wrong thread. My question is: Would anyone be interested in chanting "Coward" at Lakers games while he's at the line? Back in the 07 playoffs vs Toronto, I think I remember Dwight saying the "Howard, Howard" taunt from Raptors fan getting into his head (although we obviously won the series). Just a thought, might be a cool way to annoy him? Sorry, slow Tuesday.

I think any chant would be good as long as the whole crowd gets into it and it's consistent. Someone should put together a chant cheat sheet and have a bunch of people hand them out at the door. Various chants and situations can be listed (like chant "Coward" when he's at the line in the 2nd qtr, chant "Kobe's bitch" in the 3rd qtr - little extreme, just an example). Doubt that would happen though.

**** I'm down or just be dead silent during his introductions when the Lakers come to Orlando.

I'm saving up the funds in hopes to being able to vacation to Orlando and make this game on March 12.

That's what I'm doing too! The Lakers game is March 12th, but we also have home games on the 10th and 8th against the 76ers and Pacers so I'm just going to fly down for the whole week and go to three games.

Im hoping the fans remain silent and treat Howard as if he's just some random player. That will probably hurt him more than the negative chants.

March 12th, the Boo's will still be just as loud.

What if everyone in the arena was silent when it came to anything involving Dwight during the Lakers game. Introduction, if he scores, blocks a shot....someone start a petition.

You guys are crazy. Being silent is ridiculous. It will be noticeable, but it no way replaces an entire arena booing one man for most of a game... especially a guy like Howard who wants to be loved by everyone.

Silence won't show that people love him it will show how much we don't care about him. Booing shows that he still matters here, nothing would be worse than to have that many people just staring at him in complete silence. It won't happen though, you couldn't get that many people to get it and be completely silent.

He may want to be loved by everyone but he's also an attention whore. Booing just makes him more liked elseware.

we should expect a good number of screaming lakers fans (fans?) at the game. i don't think silence would be as effective as intended. not that it can be pulled off anyway...

Silence. And we should all turn our backs on him during his intro. That would be an amazing gesture.

Every time he scores, silence. Whenever the rest of the Lakers score, boo like crazy. A little difficult to organize, but awe-inspiring if we could pull it off.

Silence won't show love, but it also won't have the effect you're hoping for either. It will create a boring, neutral atmosphere, like attending a raptors-bobcats game in Charlotte. Boos/yelling/negative chants would make it a bit more exciting and has the potential to rattle Howard in the process. And like I said in the other thread, you will still have plenty of Magic fans booing and LA fans cheering, so the perfectly silent crowd you're dreaming about would never happen. It's much easier to create a "hostile" environment considering the circumstances. People will be attending this game just to boo him... not necessarily because they're truly "butt hurt," but for fun, kinda like going to a wrestling event.

Howard has always been a clown who wants/needs to be loved by everyone. There is only one way to get to him and it's not by shrugging your shoulders and staying quiet. Dude can't even handle a few negative comments on the Internet or reporters trying to get a rise out of him, what makes you think he wouldn't mind thousands of former fans yelling at him in person? Being quiet may feel like you're sticking it to him, but it would actually be giving him an easy out as he wouldn't have to face the fans.
