What is wrong with LA Dwight Howard?

Do you guys know why he hasn't played like Orlando Dwight in LA,I don't think he's 100% yet.

He's playing ok still putting up 18/12 but when he gets healthy what can we expect 20/20 games on a regular basis?

He has lost some of his vert even before the injury. He does look slower on the court this year though. I would say he looks 90% healthy though so that's not much of an excuse. He doesn't fight for deep low post positions and that's what's hurting him on offense (that and the lack of spacing for him). His defense has also been slacking this year but people fail to realize that Dwight was very overrated for his man to man defense. He's always had bad hands and passing the ball into him is a turnover nightmare as LA is finding out. Most of his problems are mental and he isn't the type of guy that faces adversity really well. What you see right now is about 90-95% of what you're going to see out of Dwight the rest of the way; especially with the way LA is constructed.

Well, he's blaming it on his injury. Says he wasn't supposed to be back till January. Maybe he ruined his career by coming back too soon. His explosiveness is totally gone. He's nothing without that. Absolutely NOTHING.

He certainly looks nothing like the Dwight of old, but 18/12 isn't exactly nothing.

I've seen a couple of the games and he doesn't look the same. He looks an old 27. I wonder if his body is starting to catch up to him. either way I am happy with this team. Much more fun to watch a team play hard and overachieve than to watch the underachieving team of years past.

He looks like a stiff 38 year old out there when he is running. He can't move laterally anymore. When Anderson Verajao is blowing by you for dunks you got mobility issues. Thats not a good sign for his future as an impact player. I remember Larry Johnson, when he was healthy and how athletic and explosive he was and when he suffered the back injury he was never the same again, looked slow, old and flatfooted, similar to Dwight right now but to more severe extent....

Who knows maybe we got lucky with this thing. Some of us were alraedy worried about his game once the athletecism started leaving him, could be happening much sooner than expected.
