Could you imagine if we got McLemore at #2 to play off the ball from Wiggins, with JJ (or Afflalo) shooting hot off the bench?

is that a real thing or NBA draft conspiracy real?

I don't think that's real.

Since the weighted lottery system introduced in 1990, only three teams with the worst record went on to win the lottery while only four teams with the second-worst record have won the lottery.

ok figured- its just becuase its such a small sample size- 23 lotteries, over the course of 100 lotteries, 1st should win 25 times, simple stats.

we're pretty much gonna finish bottom 3 now we've lost 18 of 20, to bad wiggins isn't in this draft

I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

I didn't mean in seeding that the Magic were the worst seed twice in a row and took #1 pick twice in a row, only that they actually did take the #1 pick twice in a row (trading one). In any case, my main point looks very wrong based on one source Wikipedia:

"Despite the weighted odds, the Orlando Magic managed to win the lottery in 1993 with only 1 chance to obtain the first pick as they were the best non-playoff team in the previous season. In October 1993, the NBA modified the lottery system to give the team with the worst record a higher chance to win the draft lottery and to decrease the better teams' chances to win. The new system increased the chances of the worst team obtaining the first pick in the draft from 16.7 percent to 25 percent, while decreasing the chances of the best non-playoff team from 1.5 percent to 0.5 percent."

I guess we can take two #1 picks in a row again (in theory).

Don't worry. We'll be doing the same thing next year too.

Magic now in a tie with Cleveland in the win column, so essentially a tie for 3rd worst (though Magic have one more loss). With the injuries it's hard to imagine the Magic getting out of the low 20s, heck they might not even hit 20 at this point. With the Wizards playing better since the trade the Magic could find themselves in the top with Charlotte.

If we could end up with 2 decent picks in this draft I think Henny Could find someone to play a solid role. There is no denying he has a pretty good eye. Just because it's not obvious to ESPN, doesn't mean there's not a great player in the 3013 draft. We will certainly have a high pick and a talented front office, I'm sure we come out pretty good.

What trade? You mean Wall coming back from the injury or what?

Got mixed up, but yea, that! lol

Washington, Cleveland, and New Orleans all won tonight. Magic are now just one win ahead of Washington and one win below Cleveland, and two below New Orleans.

Hard to see Magic not finishing in the bottom two with the way Washington has been playing lately and with all the injuries.

I don't want #1 this draft. We gotta save our Pat Williams for 2014.

Orlando is currently the third worst team, which means if the season ended today, the Magic would not select worse than 6th; and 2-4 is the most likely range.

NBAdraft.net has Orlando selecting Smart at #3. That is not smart. Smart is not BPA at #3. How the Magic are preliminary constructed, a slasher at the 2 would be an excellent addition. Muhammad is available by their draft. How could Orlando tab Smart over him? In other draft mocks, McLemore is at #3. No question Orlando selects him over Smart.

Kind of hard to do when McLemore is already off the board dude. If he's gone, I'd be happy with Smart or Shabazz.
