Harkless=DNP/CD, McRoberts=Plays 4th Q

Harkless has been straight up terrible so far. No offense, lost on defense and messes up rotations. The only thing he has been good for is the occasional sexy dunk or block with his raw athleticism.

I'm not saying he can't develop into a good player, but as of right now....he's trash. D-league caliber player.

The thing I am most disappointed with in Harkless is his very low Basketball IQ. He is always out of position on both sides of the court. He has tremendous talent and maybe he will learn the pro game, but if you are hurting your teammates while on the court by being in the wrong position, then you are not going to last in the NBA. Harkless is young and has the rookie contract to learn the game and should not be forced into lineups because that could hurt his development more than help. Players need to learn to earn their minutes by playing smart.

You don't go from starting to DNP-CD because a coach has favorites. Like others said, there's a lot we don't see that determines a young player's playing time.

+1. Plus, I do not think rookies should be handed things either. Follow your coach's assignments and directives, if you do not, go sit on the bench. I love how JV approaches to this developing young guns issue, his primary concern is to avoid shaping rookies to an undesirable mold.

Same with Drew. You want more minutes? I do not care about your offense, you will do fine there. Just do not be a unmotivated stiff while defending and do not have mental lapses, and you will get more minutes.
