Agreed.. He looks good and fits a need for us

Just another reason why I can't always buy into the claim that GMs/scouts/coaches know 100x more about the game than us fans so we need to stfu and get in line. Tons of people knew Portis would be a steal on draft night.

HAHA you actually thought I was suggesting we should've drafted Portis at #5?

The whole premise of what I was saying is its crazy he was drafted at 22..

Double double for O'Quinn off the bench tonight. Skiles would have loved him.

Illyasova does not look good. I never really payed attention to him but he seems pretty lackluster in this game.

Have you seen anything he's done since being drafted? Definite wow factor. That said, I don't think anyone was suggesting that we take Portis #5 overall. Portis was drafted 22 overall. I think we should've found a way to get back into Round 1 to take him.

But it does get me thinking... Could we have had a better fit? Portis would start... he can spread the floor, has a midrange and low post game, rebounds like heck and he plays defense with attitude. Instead, we're hoping Frye's offseason conditioning is going to turn things around for him as our currently slated starting PF who "might" lose his spot to a tweener type PF. hmmm...

No, I have not. That's why I asked!
