Big 12 is taking the Big East path to becoming obsolete if they don't get proactive.

I think you guys got screwed with your opponent, not saying you won't whoop NC State, but I though BYU or Memphis would have been better.

It just really hurts seeing ECU getting UF. Not going to lie. It hurts

Unfortunately UF was never going to accept a bowl bid to play us. Beat us and it's not a huge deal, lose and it's a big deal locally, if not nationally, including an impact to recruiting.

Would've loved to have played them or Miami though.

Miami or UF. Both hurt as both are superior names to NC State.
That said I will be patient and hopefully in the next 2-3 year we get an
invite to the Big 12 and this will be irrelevant. Even the UC vs Va Tech game is better in name.

UCF's second allotment of bowl tickets are sold out. Should be a good showing for us at the game.

I think it's a combo of a close game to home, 8 pm kickoff (hello tailgating!) and being the day after Christmas with most people off that helped.

Time to consider a new basketball coach, this is pathetic.

Yeah, Jones has not progressed as well as was expected.

In his defense, he's not had a full load of scholarships, and a few recruits never made it to campus.

On the bright side, next years class is probably his strongest....and he has a few pieces that are promising (BJ Taylor especially). The question remains whether or not they actually ever put on a uniform.

What irks me though is how his teams do not attack on either end of the floor, how many mental mistakes his teams make during a game, and how horrible the team free throw shooting is year after year.

The poor FG shooting in the second half was historic ..... Ugh

UCF is probably always going to be a football school and that's not a bad thing per se.

The facilities are certainly their but.....

That's bull. There's a lot of basketball talent here that Donnie never comes close to bothering to access.

To be fair to Donnie, he has been dealing with some pretty tough situations with regards to sanctions. Having said that, his coaching has been horrendous. Betting he gets one more year, as the school will chalk this up to sanctions, a young team, and no "star" player with Sykes gone.

The talent will be there next year though in spades. So he better have us competing for a spot in the tournament.

"To be fair to Donnie" (LOL) ... those tough sanctions are party his fault. So forgive me if I don't see that as a valid excuse. As for players not making it to campus, maybe he should focus on kids with better gpa's/test scores like O'Leary does.

Vegas lists Ucf as 1.5 point favorite over NC State.

The casual fan and student alike have stopped bothering to go to BB games.
That makes ucf a football school. Students still love to go to football and if the weather is
good and it is a non noon game the BHNS has a shot at selling out.

Those two types of fans make us a football school.
Sure there is talent in O-Town but UCF still is run like a TAAC basketball program.
There has been almost zero progress with exception to facilities since I moved here in 94.
Without progress no casual fan is going to bother....and yes Donnie Jones is garbage.

^^^ agreed. Marcus Jordon and Clanton had people excited for a little while but it's been a total letdown otherwise. Time for a new direction.

That's because with Clanton and Jordan there was the potential to possibly make the tournament. UCF basketball will never really get a huge group of followers until they are fighting for a tournament spot year in and year out. Down years are expected, especially in college hoops, but we need to find a way into the tournament a few times over the next few years if the program is ever going to grow.

I think the talent coming in next year is going to be enough to give us a chance to earn a spot, but to say I question the coaching is an understatement. I hope Donnie proves us all wrong!
