Or waive Nelson and Afflalo at all??

We could have just signed Nelson to a cheaper contract...

this is what im not understanding. If they wanted this leadership from vets why are they getting rid of maxiell and jameer?? doesn't make much sense. Unless the players are telling them they would like to be released to be on a contending team?? and the magic fo is going along with it??..

Because we are getting involved in some deal to help someone snag a big fish. It is just too much of a coincidence that all of these moves are happening on the eve of the start of free agency.

This is a good pickup guys... he's not here to start, he's here to bring it every day, regardless of role, and to be a vet leader. He'll do it without complaining about minutes, too. I think Henny and Vaughn want to expose our young guys to as many of these vet types as possible, so they can learn a little something from each. He'll be gone in a year. Despite his unimpressive stats, Clippers fans have nothing but good things to say about him.

I think it's an ok move, one thing to remember is Hennigan seems to think he's assembled a group of young guys who are all very high team and attitude players. Maybe he thinks they don't need many vets to mentor this team and they would work out better learning and growing together.

Anyone else remember this game? Willie Green went off on us in 2011. Couldn't find highlights on YouTube.

I see what Rob is doing. Taking Magic killers and then taking their soul away. First Maxiell, now Willie...

The affalo and Nelson moves were needed it is time to turn the leadership responsibility to Oladipo Vuc Harkless and Harris. We were never gonna have jameer back as a backup he wouldnt like that at all no matter how you all want to talk about him being a great professional. We need to sign veteran leaders that will be leaders from the bench not the court and not to take shots from our new players
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz takes:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year.

He's a 100X better than bringing back Big Baby. BBD was an absolute disgrace to Orlando.

The sarcasm is light and funny. Especially the "he will take his talent to orlando" lmao.

But seriously.. this is exactly the kind of signing we should expect. We ARE NOT going to be signing any big namers. Our next step is giving our youngsters the lane to grow. Otherwise, we would've kept AA. The FA vets that we bring in will probably have these qualities in common.

- High character
- Team oriented
- Won't beef about not starting
- Can play a specific role
- No long term contract

Cheap depth is all, and a nice practice dummy. I think we are going to go hard after bledsoe or lowry.

THe Clippers were reportedly intending to resign Green. But with Orlando claiming him off of waivers, that reallyy back-fired for LA v2.0

I guess Rob Hennigan just liked him as a veteran addition.

Maybe they are even bringing him in to replace Ronnie Price who may or may not be back.

Usually, teams don't claim players off of waivers though.

i can see it, but it worries me also. I see Payton as our PG of the future. Paying Bledsoe enough to pry him away from PHX, he would be starting and then what?

This stupid. Im a huge Rob fan but he has turned me against him with this garbage. Why not just keep Meer? We looking to put the good premium gas in the tank.

you heard it from Jameer himself. He wanted to be able to sign on with a contending team. Should Rob force him to stay? as for tanking, Jameer was playing last year when the team came in with the 3rd worst record.
