I would like to see him play the 4 as well. If he developed to his potential, his skillset/size/athleticism would be very rare for that position.

I'm not going to say he won't be an excellent PF. But I'm not sure I see what you're seeing this soon. AG's got a long way to go to be able to hold down PF in the NBA. I didn't watch much of him in college. But the little that I did see and from the SL games, he needs to become much more physical. Not sure he'll be able to stand his ground on D in the paint. His base doesn't seem that strong yet. His offense in the post is raw just like the rest of his offensive game. Right now, his game is more suited for SF. I want him to find a way to be our PF as much as anyone. But I'm not sold on him like you are. It's early, though.

There's no denying his handles are pretty good on any NBA standard, but especially for a big man. And then there is his athleticism. He's a good passer. His potential is through the roof. But one of these days we're gonna need some of these guys to become dependable scorers. Until that happens, it's hard to be sold on anyone, let alone AG.

Why put a label on what position he plays? He'll play the other F position with Harris and they'll match up with whomever fits best.

Lamar Odom was pretty much a point-forward PF.

I know the new trend is to say there are no positions but he actually will physically play power forward and there are going to be guys he struggles to defend because he doesnt have the bulk right now. But with the position becoming increasingly pereimeter oriented I think he'll be fine.

Top 20 PF's in terms of scoring. Since defense is what people think he will struggle with due to being bodied up on. (lack of strength and size)

1. Kevin Love-No
2. Blake Griffin-Yes
3. LeMarcus Aldridge-No
4. Dirk Nowtizki-No
5. Anthony Davis-No
6. David Lee-No
7. Paul Milsap-Maybe
8. Thad Young-No
9. ZBO-Yes
10. Pau Gasol-No
11. Greg Monroe-No
12. Serge Ibaka-No
13. Tim Duncan-Maybe
14. David West-No
15. Markief Morris-No
16. Carlos Boozer-Maybe

Then followed by Hawes, Faried and Gibson who he won't struggle with IMO. ALL the PF's following this list averaged less than 12ppg he shouldn't struggle with. He's 225 lbs of pure muscle. He's no Noel or KG when they entered the league.

He isn't a string bean guys! There are only a handful of bigger bruiser PF's that would in theory be able to push him around.

IMO he will be able to defend PF's better than Harris will. Harris has 10 lbs on him....but Gordon is superior athletically.

I think he's a legit 6"9, all he has to do is add 10-15 pounds of muscle then I think he'll be right in the sweet spot. How much weight you think he can gain between now and preseason?

I just heard this interview but listen to how Frye plans to help AG. Interview is from last week and worth the listen. Skip to 10:13 to hear about his mentoring plans.

That's a little simplistic. No one is calling him scrawny. But fact of the matter is, there's times he got out-muscled in college and I wasn't too impressed with his post D and rebounding in SL. Players that look the part come through the NBA all the time. Unfortunately it's not as simple as that. He is outlandishly athletic, but he'll need to figure out how to use his athleticism and strength on a more consistent basis. Right now he's a highlight reel. But we'll need more than that from him.

Devyn played mostly SF at Summer League and did very well in that position.
