The next city to get an NFL Team will be Los Angeles and it is likely to be The Raiders.

In order for Orlando to get a team, The Tampa Bay Bucs or Jacksonville Jaguars would have to move here and even if they did, the renovated Citrus Bowl is unlikely to cut it.

Not ever likely.

Jacksonville and tampa both have territorial rights to orlando.

It would be very difficult at minimum.

We don't need an NFL team in my opinion.

Jaguars would be the best bet at this time, but I highly doubt it.

I will say that we should push strongly to host as many NFL exhibitions and even a regular season game as much as possible.

Yea unless Tampa or Jax decide to relocate I don't think it happens. Jax certainly looks like the more likely, but the owners are putting in a lot of new money and work to draw in fans and get the franchise going again. If their attempts fail though we could see them move, but even then I'm not sure Orlando would be the most likely destination.

Maybe the Citrus Bowl can host a few neutral site games but I don't think we'll see very many NFL games.

I remember years and years ago back in the early 90s, I think there was talk of moving the Buccaneers to Orlando. Than again, I was very little at that point and my memory could be a little hazy regarding this. lol.
Lets go Magic!!!

I think it was around 2007 that I read an article that the Jags owner was trying to have some pre-season games here, and that he could see Orlando as a good possibility for relocation.

In addition, I read an article a while back that someone was trying to get an MLB team here and that it would be the best shot for another one of the big 3 American sports to come here.

There are already 3 teams in Florida and we just got a MLS team, so i don't see we getting a NFL team, besides Orlando city is very small too, we don't afford more teams.

The problem is with Tampa being only an hour away right across I-4. I grew up in Tampa, and was a huge Magic fan. I know some people in Orlando who are Rays fans and Bucs fans. So those fanbases already sort of overlap between the two cities. I know the Amway is built specifically for hockey (they have the Solar Bears already) and one of the goals they said when building was maybe to attract an NHL team. I don't see Orlando as a big hockey town, but who knows....the Solar Bears get a decent showing for minor league hockey. I would say MLB or NHL before NFL for SURE. Maybe if the Rays ever moved...there are only 2 MLB and 2 NHL teams in Florida, so maybe, maybe a 3rd would work in Orlando but I think the best bet would be moving one of the existing teams there who already have some fans in the area (Jags, Rays, etc).

If L.A. Can have 2 NBA and MLB teams, we should get an NFL team and MLB team without losing the Rays or Jags!

Except that's LA and we're....not LA. We will not be getting an NFL team. We're lucky we just got an MLS team. Really, the best solution is to build that highway between Orlando and Tampa. Between us, we've got it all.

Unfortunately, I really hate the Bucs. I'm absolutely fine with the Rays. I just wish there was a team near us with a competent owner and GM with at least semi-decent players.

I'd agree the chances of Orlando getting an NFL team is remote. Certainly not through expansion. The Jaguars moving would be the most likely option and I think they'd end up in Los Angeles first. We are too close to two NFL cities unfortunately. The Buccaneers aren't moving. I do think both the Bucs and Jags could benefit greatly by perhaps coming to an agreement with the NFL to perhaps play preseason games here. I think a really good idea would have the teams play a home game here every year ( and not against each other) during the regular season. For example, in 2015, Jags vs Titans, 2016, Bucs vs Falcons. Even bringing the Dolphins in could help expand all their fanbases.
