Minor Trade Reported

According to John Denton, the Orlando Magic have made a minor trade to aid in future salary cap flexibility. This trade doesn't involve players on the current roster. My best guess would be that we traded the rights to Fran Vazquez. More details coming soon.

I don't think I've ever seent his before.. Who wants to guess the trade? I guess it's Vazquez for a protected second rounder. We just take the added cap flexibility..

I bet the Magic pick up some expiring for a 2nd rounder just to meet the Salary floor and end up cutting him.

Wolves swing big Kevin Love trade with Cavs, then send 2017 2nd round pick via Pelicans (protected through #55) to the Magic for rights to Fran Vazquez.

It actually makes sense. They want to wait for the Love deal to be official and if there was a chance of Fran actually ever coming over, that'd be an ideal destination for him.

Considering we met the floor a couple weeks ago, I would think this is not the case.

These holds last three years, which is why Vazquez is no longer linked to a rookie contract.

Why because he is 31 and isn't likely to ever come over. He also has a cap hold of about 2 mill so that is a waste of cap space. If we can get anything for him then we should do it as he has practically no value to us.

If he had a cap hold of 2 million for the past 9 years we would've renounced his rights a long time ago.
