Good to hear about his reaction to the team prank. The video the Magic posted didn't really show his initial reaction to realizing what happened.

Hah that's actually a pretty embarrassing question for the poor kid. Don't make him feel self-conscious about his hair or he might cut it!!

Adam, I do think you should ask him if he ever takes time to have a little fun. He always seems so serious like he's got the weight of the world on his shoulders. Anyway, keep up the good work.

He is a +20.1 before you have to start taking out that insane number of turnovers. IF he can cut down that he is productive.

I think Payton will be fine, but based on the way he's playing so far, there's no way he gets enough PPG to challenge for the ROY voting. He seems committed to setting up his teammates first and foremost -- sometimes to our great detriment.

the rondo comparison is looking more and more right. Rondo could barely score as a rookie either and still isnt a great scorer. But he posted an assist rate about 30 as a rookie as well and it looks like Payton may get there.

On the other hand, this could all turn on a dime next week. Two games ago, Aaron Gordon looked like he would scrap for a few rebounds and not much else, whereas Payton looked ready to start and had 15 field goal attempts against Charlotte.

It's madness right now! I guess we should enjoy the ride instead of trying to be certain out how these rookies will look in 3 years.

I've watched payton for a while now and I dont think he'll ever be a prolific scorer. He will always be a set up guy imo. Thing is he plays truly exceptional defense which will always be his calling card.
