On the other hand, this could all turn on a dime next week. Two games ago, Aaron Gordon looked like he would scrap for a few rebounds and not much else, whereas Payton looked ready to start and had 15 field goal attempts against Charlotte.
It's madness right now! I guess we should enjoy the ride instead of trying to be certain out how these rookies will look in 3 years.
I've watched payton for a while now and I dont think he'll ever be a prolific scorer. He will always be a set up guy imo. Thing is he plays truly exceptional defense which will always be his calling card.
i would be fine with a more athletic Rondo wouldn't you?
